I choose this diagnosis because the Smith family has a very unhealthy diet of mostly fast food and are all over weight. The interventions I would suggest for the Smith family are first I would have them implement a daily food diary, listing total calories eaten, types and amounts of food, and eating habits and feelings. This “provides the opportunity for the individual to focus on a realistic picture of the amount of food ingested and corresponding eating habits and feelings” (http://www.enurse-careplan.com/2011/03/imbalanced-nutrition-more-than-body.html). By having the family do this exercise it will identify patterns that they can change and help to customize a dietary program for them.
You should have plenty of choices, few restrictions and few ‘special” foods. (Willett-Eat, Drink, and Be Healthy) 2. Increase in food availability – We do not need to grow our own food if we choose not to. We do not need to raise chickens or catch our own fish anymore. Food is available at grocery stores and all we have to do is cook it and eat it.

Most people think to look good; they have to be slim and trim. What makes a “quick” weight loss better than a nutritional weight program? Time is precious in our eyes, and while we take our time to get ready to go places, we do not have time to go to the gym or workout and eat healthy. Quick is the appropriate word to use for fad diet, who wants to change their entire lifestyle when they can lose over ten pounds in one week?
The first two phases are strictly implemented to lose chunks of pounds and the last two deal with maintaining a healthy body mass to avoid health problems. Phase I: The Attack Phase The duration of phase I is dependent on the number of pounds you want to lose. The maximum pounds permitted is 8-10 in the first phase. This can be achieved in 5 days. Rigorously following a protein rich diet shall show effective results.

We should care about our environment by ordering smaller amounts of food when in restaurants. Many people in the restaurants order too much food especially in buffets but when they finish their dinner, we can see there are still have some food left on the dishes. I was one of them who always wasted food when I was done with my meal. I didn’t realize that the food I tossed in the trash could impact our environment and lead to pollution concerns. In the book, Bloom said “it’s easier for today’s children to waste food because they are so removed from its origins.” The reason why we waste food easily is we don’t have the chance to plant, water, or nurse the plants by ourselves, so we don’t know how hard it is to plant and grow the food.
To keep hunger at bay or feel satiated its been suggested to eat more foods higher in protein and low GI (glycemic index) foods. On normal days or feast days as some call it, there is no need for calorie counting, and one can eat and anything you . I intend to find out. I believe that most people don’t take into consideration what all the side effects of being overweight can do to your body.
