Taking that into consideration, if the United States deported all illegal immigrants, the unemployment rate would rise from 8% to about 13%. Imagine America with a 13% unemployment rate. The highest recorded unemployment rate in American history was 10.8% in November of 1982. People would lose hope in the economy (Unemployment Rates). Most people who are against illegal immigration in the United States begin the base of their argument that they do not pay taxes.
In addition, 63,000 were removed by the INS and 183,000 were awarded green cards, and therefore deemed legal (Illegal). Many feel the INS should bolster its standards because so many more people are receiving green cards then those that are being deported. The United States poor border patrol is one the largest causes of our large illegal immigration population. Unlike all the other immigrating cultures, Mexicans have a direct path into America . The Untied States-Mexico border is the site of the large majority of illegal immigration.
This topic is of importance to the people of the United States because there are around 12 million illegal immigrants living and working in this nation. Though these people should not have come illegally into this country, nevertheless now that they are here our economy is more bountiful because of it. More than a third of all non-legal immigrants are working in just three cities; Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago. This alone takes out a lot of the argument from people who think that illegal immigrants are stealing their jobs. Furthermore these immigrants are taking whatever jobs they can find, and because of this they are doing some of the most undesired jobs in the nation.
He tries to get the audience to even feel mercy or pity for them. Rodriguez isn’t acknowledging the feelings of a majority of his audience. A Harris Poll revealed that Americans perceive the two greatest threats to their security to be illegal immigration and the outsourcing of American jobs. According to statistics from Trading Economics, Americans have every right to be afraid of this. Over 4 million people last year were unemployed.
America’s primary goal is national security and when thousands of illegal immigrants travel into the U.S. each year, any one of those illegal immigrants could have plans to wreak havoc on this country. Gang members could be affiliated with terrorist groups who have ill-intentions for America, jeopardizing public safety (I’d rather my pink Caddy not have bullet holes in it). Along with the violence, illegal immigrants take jobs away from legal residence (right about here is where I ran out of stuff to say so I B.S.-ed it to make it longer, just bein’ honest). It’s proven that illegal immigrants are more likely to do lower paying jobs that involve more labor than legal Americans, but in the long run those jobs would be filled by previously un-employed citizens. This would strengthen America’s economy in the long run and reduce how much the government pays out to
The government has created a form of discrimination to combat previous discrimination; this is not even a levelheaded thought, programs and or laws supporting it such as Affirmative Action are immoral and should be abolished. How reverse racism negatively impacts Americans. Discrimination has been affecting America and its citizens for as long as we have been a country. From the Civil war to the Civil Rights movement to present day, it is an infectious plague. Today, hundreds of thousands of less qualified citizens are hired for jobs over other citizens, who are more than qualified for that position, all because of race (www.adversity.net).
America must restore its rights and responsibilities. Prohibition does not work. There would not be a criminal market place if drugs, all drugs including designer drugs, were legal. In an article titled, “10 Reasons to Legalize Drugs” it stated that “The market for drugs is demand-led and millions of people demand illegal drugs.” Crime would be reduced tremendously. Most of the violence associated with Lind 2 illegal drug dealing is caused by its illegality.
Undocumented immigrants are people who have entered a country without permission otherwise known as illegal immigrants. Undocumented means that the US government has no record of them ever entering the country. In most cases it is normally a step to better themselves because they face poverty in the country they live in. When immigrants believe that the chances of successfully migrating upwards are greater than the risks or costs, illegal immigration becomes an option. The benefits taken into account include not only a high chance of increased income and better living conditions, but also expectations and potential to have a future residential permit.
Mexico is one of our big illegal immigration problems we are faced with. But so far this is as much as we know of because of the only reports we have gotten and the numbers can and possibly be higher than the 11 million. The states of the U.S spend between usually 22 billion dollars a year to provide for welfare, medical, food stamps and education let alone. This money is not included by the SS (Social Security) and the Medicare that actually fund immigrant who have never worked a day in their life in the U.S! The reason for so many illegal aliens in our United States is because of how hard it can be
However, they just continue to come back to the United States. Deporting the illegal immigrants is not an effective way to handle this problem. Another idea to decrease illegal immigration is to increase the amount of border control workers. While this can stop many illegal immigrants and Rigby 3 create more jobs for United States citizens it will just barely put a dent in the amount that still enters the United States every year. A solution to this ever growing problem would to be for the United States to begin charging the countries in which illegal immigrants are coming to the United States from.
