Her carer often comes round and is nasty to her, pushes her and calls her names. Mary hasn’t told anyone because she thinks it is her fault, she is being annoying and this is why her carer is horrible to her. Also people who are dependent on others for personal care. Sometimes people living alone and depending on a carer can make a person very isolated and they may find that their main contact with the outside world is through their carer. Their carer may be the person they see the most in the day.
Curley’s wife lived not only through the sexiest society which rejected her but her husband did not love her at all making her become “… a tart… with the eye,”(Steinbeck14). That is the image that the men have of Curley’s wife because they are ignorant and do not understand that all she is searching for is to have someone to talk to. Curley’s wife’s loneliness led her to have a bad image with the men on the ranch but also made her seek for attention in anybody she did not matter who. For example she would talk to Candy, and old lifeless man, Crooks who is a Negro that is physically disabled, and Lennie who is a huge man that is mentally retarded. She became mean too since she was lonely and the men rejected her.
One of her biggest challenges was working with Douglas Henry, who was the company’s key punch and computer sections supervisor (Bennett-Alexander & Hartman, 2009). Rabidue and other female colleagues were exposed to Henry’s vulgarity, hateful comments towards women, and obscene posters demoralizing women. Upper management had been informed of it, but had only given Henry friendly advice to curb the behavior, which had not been effective. Rabidue was also faced with challenges of not being able to perform her duties or receive the same courtesies and benefits as the other managers such as: free lunches, free gasoline, a telephone credit card or entertainment privileges (Bennett-Alexander & Hartman, 2009). She was unable to take clients to lunch because of how it would be perceived.
“The words were baiting. Alma felt her dislike for Sarah Carstairs gather strength. She said calmly, ‘Then you’ve noticed the storm is fast approaching.’” (p.203). Sarah is being very rude to Alma and trying to make her angry. Although Alma does not like Sarah, she is patient with the woman, as she knows she is sick.
This was a little easier for her than some others because she didn’t look Jewish, she had blonde hair, blue eyes and spoke Polish. She was also living with a mean lady for a while, and she was very cruel to Tec. The lady always had her working, and this just made her miss her family even more. It was really hard for Tec to pretend that she was a different religion. She was a proud Jewish girl, and for her to be around all of the Christians who spoke badly about Jews really hurt her.
The reader now thinks that Curley’s wife was misunderstood, lonely and didn’t deserve the abusive comments she received. Candy then says ‘you ain’t wanted here’ making the reader feel more apologetic towards her. Despite this she calls them ‘a bunch of bindle stiffs’ and claims that she is only there because ‘they ain’t nobody else’. She then turned on crooks ‘in scorn “listen nigger”’ this is very cruel and spiteful but maybe she was only retaliating. She also tries to ally with them when she says ‘I’d like to bust him myself’, she is referring to Curley and says how she also hates him too.
Her unsupportive argument is not to prove the misconceptions of what makes a woman a woman, really her arguments about her own anger and aggression towards her past. She can’t get over it and carries those feelings and judges everyone, like they are all out to hurt
“I hope I never been that fat.” she finally said, with a low upset sound. Obesities always kind, because they do not have a good looking to attract people talk with them. Psychologically, they often feel self-abasement in interpersonal communication. They often feel nebbish in interpersonal communication, they become agitated and have periodic gluttony phenomenon. The girl I mentioned in the TV show, have an unpleasant past.
Maggie's condition throughout the novel is forced upon her by things outside of her control. She has a crush on a boy, like many girls do at her age, but is too naive to the world to understand his intentions. Her family is mad because they believe she is sleeping around. While she is truly just an innocent young girl with a crush. These misunderstandings escalate to the point that Maggie is kicked out of her home.
Abigail Williams throughout the entire play seemed to be trouble. Anything she said was considered evil, her name is nearly blackened in the community, and she only cares for herself. Her static characteristics, her contributions to the story, her personality, and her motivation for her actions really shape Abigail’s character. To begin, Abigail’s personality plays a huge role in this story. Her personality comes off to be very rude and self centered.
