Luis Padilla Mr. Rob Ramaker His-1301-04 12/4/2014 World War 1 The world war was also known as the Great War, it was a global war which took places primary all Europe from 1914 to 1918. The war was causes by the assassination of Francis Ferdinand, Nationalism, Imperialism and Militarism. The main cause of the World War One was due for the assassination of Francis Ferdinand. A Serbian nationalist assassinated him and his wife while they were in Sarajevo, Bosnia. They assassinated him for protest to Austria-Hungary having control of the region. Serbia wanted to take control of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The assassination of Francis Ferdinand, led to Austria declaring war to Serbia, causing different countries declaring war to different…show more content…
A lot of things have come out of the war that has benefited multiple countries. The war creates things, destroys things, and creates some hefty loans; Technology was a boost for many of the countries resulting in WW1. A lot of things have come out of the WW1 was the tank. The tank was created for the sole purpose to speed up the war. There was a lot of trench warfare between the allies and the central powers. This machine quickly did that by driving out soldiers from the trenches. The British created the first and also following was the French. Germany although used tanks a lot in the Second World War didn’t use them in this war. During the war countries started using chemical warfare for results. The first known country to use chemical warfare was Germany against Russia but was unsuccessful because the gas froze in their shells. Germany first used it successfully on April 22, 1915 when they sprayed chlorine gas from huge containers into French trenches. The French soldiers retreated and once the gas dispersed and came back which made the gas pointless. With the start of chemical warfare it also created the use of gas
