The three main supplements that people take are protein powder, pre-workout, and amino acids. The main point for taking workout supplements is to enhance the bodies system in repairing muscle fibers and to enhance in the bodies performance while working out to increase the amount of muscle fibers that are being torn. While working out, the stress that is being caused on the muscles causes small muscle fibers to break as it contracts. After the workout, the muscles will begin to rebuild themselves bigger and stronger hopefully. With workout supplements, people want to be able to breakdown more muscle fibers than they would originally and also want the rebuilding process in the muscles to build more new muscle fibers to get bigger and stronger faster. Taking protein daily alone isn’t enough to build muscle at all. Your muscles need to be worked first at which point protein is effective in feeding muscles during your workout and will also help in the rebuilding process afterwards. Taking more protein than your body needs will not help or benefit people at all, and can actually put a great deal of stress on your liver and kidneys. Beyond repairing tissue, protein is also used in the development of hormones and enzymes that will aid in the development of blood, skin, bone, and cartilage. For this reason, protein is an effective and safe way for building body mass when taken with a workout and also increases overall body fitness. Like any supplement being taken, it should be used properly and safely. The accurate amount of protein to ingest daily is one gram per each pound of body weight.
