UKCP produces publications and runs meetings and conferences to inform and consult on issues of concern to practitioners and support continuing professional development. As part of its commitment to protection of the public, UKCP works to improve access to psychological therapies, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards, and also deals with complaints against organisational members as well as individual members. Looking at the similarities they have the same standards and practice of care requirements and uphold the same values and ethical principles. Some difference seems to be that BACP have members who describe themselves as counsellors are educated to undergraduate diploma level and mostly employed in organizations. Where members of UKCP who describe themselves as psychotherapists are generally educated to master’s level and are mostly self-employed in private practice.
Education is the most important thing to all students. But to help them make the best out of it, every classroom has to provide good expectations and authority. While Rose discusses his theory of the consideration of authority in “Possible Lives”, Corla Hawkins builds a strong relationship with her students and gives them a healthy environment around the classroom. They’re both successful in their own ways. Mike Rose, an American professor, was doing research in many classrooms around the country.
And by doing what he did he was success full in what he wanted. Ender was only 6 years old when he was sent to battle school. But at the age of six, he was more intelligent then all the other boys in his group. If there was something ender knew he wasn’t good at he would study and study to be the best at it. If there a was a battle that others couldn’t beat, he would strategize and bring out all his intelligent’s to be the best at it and prove to others he deserved his spot.
Drill team gave me the knowledge that grades in high school do play an important role in life and I knew that if I put enough heart into it I would succeed. My coaches made an impact on me because they differentiated me from other and made me realize that I made a huge difference to the team. They gave me the opportunity to showcase what I had, which made me sense I was notable and helped to raise my confidence. I have never been able to adjust to situations as well as others but the confidence I gained from drill team experiences helped to change that. My confidence plays a big role in the person I am today.
A second way in which these two characters are similar is that they both respect other people’s privacy. Atticus has stopped Jem and Scout many times from disturbing Boo Radley; because he knows Boo likes to be alone. Atticus: “I’m going to tell you something and tell you one time: stop tormenting that man. That goes for the other two of you.” (Page 49, Line 10). In the same way, Michael doesn’t want to talk to Lincoln because he knows that they are completely different people and there is no point of meeting.
Picture a scenario where two parents/guardians are irritated with the decision of their child. If that boy or girl were to go to their room, weep, and dream of a scenario where their choice was accepted or they could do it over again, nothing in the real world would change, and in turn their dreams would worsen the situation. The truth is, dreams and imaginary fantasylands do not hide the inevitable darkness that is reality. One must wake up from these dreams, and realize they must do something in the real world to obtain
Hidden Intellectualism Responsive Essay Gerald Graff’s argument that boyhood conversations about sports provided a solid foundation for his later intellectual life, in a way, makes a lot of sense. When one is constantly in conversations and arguments that one can relate to and is passionate about, that person can bring more to the table than just a boring explanation with no life or emotion in it. As Gerald Graff says, “It trains you to write a sharply argued, sociologically acute analysis of an issue.”(They Say I Say, pg. 386) At first, good arguments like those would only appear in conversations one likes but later on one would become accustomed to talking “intellectually”, as Graff says, in any argument that person gets into. Just like anything else in life, it takes practice, and you will get better out of practice when you like the certain field than when you don’t, a good reason to why these types of arguments should be included in school arguments.
Jocks, “preps”, punks, and nerds are among the most common one would find in a high school. Dividing the student body into these categories can be a little confusing to some people and, in my opinion, unnecessary, but it’s just a fact of life that is to be handled like any other means of classification. Jocks are the athletic, popular students of a high school. They usually play every sport and excel in them. They are usually classified as the “cool kids” and are known by everyone in and close to their school.
Since the IB learner profile unites us all as a lifelong learners. It applies to us all for we are all continually learning. William McRaven made many analogies that relate to IB Learner profile and that automatically makes him a thinker. McRaven’s life learned lessons, applies to everyone because he was able to analyze the credit and the faults of things he has learned from seal training. The first thing the men learned was to make their beds orderly each day.
Some of those reasons were because sports are fun and competitive, because our friends played or because of the status that we gained from playing these sports. Most of us did not realize the intangibles that we would gain from playing sports and these traits would build self esteem. Things such as confidence, responsibility, and sociability are intangibles that cannot be taught but can be instilled by playing and experiencing sports at a young age. When children begin playing sports with 2 their peers they are put into situations where they begin to compete against one another, they begin to socialize, build cohesion and become a team. When a child learns to become a team player they build confidence in his/her ability execute their part.
