No matter field of work you choose, whether you are a director, manager, secretary, or CEO of a company, you will have to communicate in some way to accomplish any of these job duties. Having very good communication skills is the key to being very successful. Knowing how to communicate a message effectively, clear, complete and correct is the only way you can get your point across successfully. This paper will attempt to describe the current trends in business communication today.
I have been in the retail business my whole professional career and felt that a business degree would help me achieve my goals. My main goal is to own my own business and strive for the American dream. I like retail for the fact that you get to work with the community and get to know your customers. With a good customer base, your business with thrive. Without a good customer base your business with go under.
Human Resource Management Week 1 Assignment 1. Why do you think is it important for HR to be a strategic partner to the business? HR is an important strategic partner to any business, because it identifies the needs and future needs of the organizations that they are representing. HR is a direct connection to the employee, management and the organization ultimate goals. These ultimate goals are met by the basic functions of HR which are planning, organizing, leading, and controlling.
An example of this could be social security benefits. These motivations help the company recruit top level employees and increase their overall productivity. But this can be a trade-off as these benefits and rewards can be costly. Takeaway 2 - Corporate Culture, Human Resources, and Ethics Zappos is a great example of a company that has created a lively atmosphere for their workers through their casual working environment. But another takeaway is that this type of culture is not compatible with many companies.
Short vs. long-term focus In the case of short or long term focus when it comes to employment, it is my opinion that it depends on what you are looking for. However, it is my opinion that for your particular company a long-term focus would be better of for you guys and will help you grow faster and have a solid and consistent mission throughout your regions. I believe that having a long-term focus and investing in developing your talent will result in having great managers that will pass on the culture of the company to their employees; in whichever store they happen to be placed. Since one of the concerns for both Emerson and Wood was the lost of the company core values as a result of expanding, I believe that having a long term approach to employment will assure that those who stay with the company pass on those values to the next generation of
An operations manager is a person who runs the operations of a business daily. This position is responsible for efficient and effective measures. The operations manager must continue to find ways to make the company more efficient and profitable. I am best suited for this position because of my strong work ethic, organization, and motivation skills. The company will benefit from my motivation to get the job done and my organization skills to put everything in place.
A franchise is a form of business organization in which a firm already has a successful product or service, ("Investorsword.com", 2012). The franchisor then enters into a continuing contractual relationship with other businesses for the use of their product or service for a fee. A franchise would be an excellent choice for an individual who has the funds to start up a business. Starting up a business is a high risk taker because one doesn’t know what to expect. With a franchise the risk is somewhat lower because the business has already proven itself to be successful.
