Gang violence is pretty much defined as the rivalry between different groups of people. Before I started researching gang violence I knew that there are gangs everywhere and almost all of them are very violent. When your in a gang it’s pretty much your family. You have to do anything for them. I also knew that gangs appeal to young people because there’s a lot of power that you get.

Indeed, it is no secret that too often scorekeeping, league standings, and the drive to win bring out the worst in adults who are more absorbed in living out their own fantasies than in enhancing the quality of the experience for children (Smith, Smith, and Smoll 9). Recent newspaper articles on children's sports contain plenty of horror stories. Los Angeles Times reporter Rich Tosches, for example, tells the story of a brawl among seventy-five parents following a Peewee Football game (A33). As a result of the brawl, which began when a parent from one team confronted a player from the other team, the teams are now thinking of hiring security guards for future games. Another example is provided by an L.A. Times editorial about a Little League manager who intimidated the opposing team by setting fire to one of their team's jerseys on the pitching mound before the game began.
A gang of foot ball players hazed a freshman varsity player resulting in injuries. Proving a point the head coaches put their foot down and had the tough athletes expelled. From inside the classroom to sports the youth of Houston appear to be undergoing the negative effects of bullying and a hope for more school safety monitors. It is to be hoped that now, the issue with bullying can be related to the increase of school safety.
Random searches for students should be enforced to make the students aware that they could be caught with a weapon at any time. Teachers having a closer connection to each individual student should make the student feel more of a bond with their superiors making it easier for them to express their problems and issues to prevent any further altercations. All of these factors could be used in the prevention of gun violence in schools. After all of my reading and researching I have a new outlook on the issue of gun control and all of the factors that are involved with it. The statistics are scary, and even more shocking is the reality of the violence just knowing that at anytime and anyplace you can be in the middle of gun violence or even a victim.
Now granted Stewie is only three years old, but he has the mind of an evil genius. Various times Stewie has tried to kill each of his family members except for the family dog Brian. The acts children are doing now are intolerable for their age. From Kay S. Hymowitz essay “Tweens: Ten Going On Sixteen”, according to a report by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, “offender under age 15 represent the leading edge of the juvenile crime problem and their numbers are growing.” This statement can conclude to the television program The Boondocks in so many ways. In the show, it has two individuals who are
The increase in violent crime by youth is an alarming trend that has many contributing factors. An environment where violence is fed to our youth daily from all avenues including, home, school, and the media can only reinforce the concept of violence as the answer to our problems. Who has the answer for such dramatic damage in our society? Experts who have studied youthful offenders state that most of them grew up in broken and abusive families marked by drugs and alcohol, violence and mental illness. Abuse at such an early age can lead to aggression and violence (The New York Times, 2000).
Teen Violence Teen violence is an increasing thing in our world. There are many reasons why this happens; for example to prove how tough you are, gangs, living in a bad area, race, the media, and students retaliating because of bullying. Each reason may play a different role in a teen’s life. Teen violence will always be a part of regular teen life because of the people we have to look up to and the situations we put ourselves in.
