In order for a sitcom to be great, it should be re-watchable. Seinfeld has a number of inside jokes including catch phrases and character flaws which are repeated throughout the episodes. The inside jokes are generally only picked up by dedicated viewers who realise that they’re funny, hence they are necessary in re-watchability. Another factor in a great sitcom is chemistry among the characters. The characters of Seinfeld have such great chemistry that we love to watch them, and feel like a part of it.
300 might not be historically accurate, but a lot of special effects were added to this movie in purpose of adding a flavor to the screen and to keep the viewers of the movie entertained. The fight scenes are far from what you may call “historically accurate,” but that was Zack Snyder’s intention. 300 This movie will always be remembered, 300 is always going to have an important role in the history of cinematography right next to movies like Casablanca. I absolutely love the movie 300, a lot of film schools take advantage of the great methods that were used to make this movie and use them to teach their students about films. You can count on film schools using 300 as a means to teach film students for many years to come.
Spiderman vs. Odysseus As we flip through the family photo albums, we always seem to love the satisfaction that we receive as we point to cousins or siblings and nag on them for how they used to look. It is a cycle of life; as time progresses, different ideas or the way we view things are developed and formed. With time, even forms of entertainment have changed. About 30 years ago, a movie would be enjoyed very much if it contained nothing more than two things: action and romance. It did not even matter that the motion picture did not contain color, good graphics, or with some, even sound.
Gattaca was the best in terms of entertainment. It always kept me thinking about what is going to happen next. It had many twist in the plot that surprised me. The technology that was shown in the movie was very interesting to. Also, I enjoyed the entertainment from the character in the movie, Eugene, who a handicap that was virtually perfect.
Although both Preston Sturges and Frank Capra use imagery and comedy to deliver messages in their respective movies, Capra’s ability to express his ideas in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington regarding perseverance conveys a much more poignant message, despite Sturges’ more recognizable views about smiling through the pain in his movie, Sullivan’s Travels. The comedic elements of Mr. Smith Goes to Washington and Sullivan’s Travels add to the theme of each movie, subtly giving away major plot points. Both movies draw the audience in with the use of farce, such as when Sturges has Sullivan and his companion pushing each
Robrigado 1 Matt Robrigado English 1A Professor Piluso 12 September 2012 The Game of Life Old original movies are not always boring to watch. Compared to the movies made today for people to watch which contain lots of foul language, violence, and sex, The Sandlot contains many important life values and morals such as friendship, teamwork and perseverance. The classic film The Sandlot is a great movie to watch because of its comical dialogue, incredible cast, superior theme of friendship, and the mindset to never give up at what anything no matter what the cost is. The younger generation think that is what they should do since that is what they see on TV and the internet. Divinecaroline.com state “Reality shows have become very popular and teens have begun to realize that you can become famous just by being a bad girl, teen mom, or a crazy party animal who likes to do nothing but drink and “smush,” like the cast members on Jersey Shore.” Shows like this are giving teens the wrong idea. Why should the cast be paid so much for setting a bad example? This country is supposed to be looked up to as a great clean country. With shows like this on air for the world to see it is a disgrace.
In my opinion “All in the family” was a great 1970’s sitcom. I really enjoy the reality of politics, sexuality and they way Americans’ view each other in the sitcom. I find the show to be brilliant and hilarious and most Americans’ don’t get Archie Bunker’s point of view on life and that’s why I think that the contrasts would outweigh the comparisons if this show were to air today. Some of the television’s jokes would still hold up today. When Archie picks on his wife and calls her names, it compares to the sitcom “Everybody loves Raymond”.
For those of us that seek adventure, TV shows offer programs that vary from actors to themes to genres and have one of two purposes: to entertain or to inform. I also laugh when Michael farts on his boss and when he pauses and then kick the penis of his wife’s another husband, the coach. It is a heart-touching movie even though I didn’t cry. It teaches us the lesson that we must give time for our family. No matter what achievements we have got, it is more important that we have our love and time for our family. We should balance the time between our career and our family.
