I think this poem represent all the people that gave their lives up for us, not only in Ypres but everywhere else, that they will live on forever in our memories. My close uncle, Orlando Muñoz, is a veteran and I am very proud of him. He is an inspiration to my family and I, we love what he does for this country, and in spite of all the hard work and effort it takes, he loves what he does. He is the example of a true American citizen. He has been serving for 18 years from the moment he graduated high school.

Many of these left a great impression on society. Among these is Martin Luther King, Jr., a civil rights activist. For many, King portrays a picture of humanity and great courage. Despite day-to-day controversies faced by Martin Luther King, Jr., history will always remember him for playing a vital and positive role in America’s fight for civil rights.
But I am not dumbfounded of it all. The one person in the world that I can say is truly a great Haitian hero in my personal opinion is my late great grandfather, Bousett Herivaux. My great grandfather is my hero because he played the father role in my life, he served for his country, and he loved everyone with all of his heart. My great grandfather was truly one of a kind. His name was what he believed he was entitled to carry around for the rest of his life. He cherished his name and if it meant going to the most extreme measure, death, for his name, John would go there. John is a very strong person and caring with pure intentions, no negative spirits towards anyone. John isn’t perfect. As many people saw him, he was flawed.
Following in the footsteps of his father, he became a commemorable civil rights activist, and a phenomenal speaker. Malcolm is commended for being an inspirational speaker. He was known for his ability to speak and get through to others. He is known for many famous quotes. The ones that stood out to me the most were: “Without education, you're not going anywhere in this world.” This quote influenced a lot of people, such as myself.
Malcolm X Malcolm X was a man strongly against racism. He had joined a religious group that stood up for the black community’s rights. He gave many speeches and led a very important rally. Malcolm was a born leader and those qualities started to show during his childhood and early adult years. His time in prison was the start of it all.
While his sudden death may have won him sympathy in many people’s hearts, he was still seen as a great president before his assassination because of his many positive traits and the great things he had accomplished which warrant him to still be though of as one of the America’s greatest presidents, even to this

In 1998, he was chosen to be a United Nations Messenger of Peace because of his work in developing countries. Ali has gotten several rewards for his gracious actions towards the community. He received a Presidential medal of freedom from President George W. Bush in 2005; afterwards he opened the Muhammad Ali center in his hometown of Louisville Kentucky, that same year he said “ I am a man who worked had to develop the talent that I was given”, he also said I believe in myself and the goodness of others”. But despite the progression of his disease, Ali remained active in his public life, and he embodies the true meaning of a champion because of his dedication, time and effort he has put forward. Ali has received a Presidential NAACP award for his public service as he does every year; Ali is still alive and still fighting Parkinson’s disease but he still embodies an true champion.
Theodore Roosevelt’s time of being president seemed so powerful to me. He knew what he was doing as president and was a strong leader. He solved many problems and won many wars. How can we say no to “Teddy”? He was a succeeding and wonderful president and that’s what I liked about him.
