To me visiting the town I was born in was the most important, because I wanted to know where I came from. I wanted to experience a different lifestyle that the one we have in the U.S, and trust me I got what I wanted. We left on our trip in December, just in time for the Christmas holidays. As soon as you set foot in Mexico you can tell the difference. I was amazed of every little thing that I saw and the every new thing too.
He asked me if I would want to go on a trip of a life time and I was sold right then and there. I was allowed on the trip as long as I went to navigation school. Finally on 1492 we set sale for a new route to Asia. By day 27 I thought it was hopeless and thought we were sailing straight to our death but finally we landed on San Salvador and Chris proposed that I be his lieutenant Governor . I was honored and graciously accepted his offer.
Finally, after four worksite interruptions, we arrived at the in-laws’ house in Mississippi, right at two hours later than I had planned, thanks to the zippers. As soon as dinner was finished, I collected the reports from Sharon and the kids and set about recording their tabulations. The results on a total of 112 zippers (and do recall that we weren’t doing research at the first worksite): 51 (45%) were sports cars, of which 24 were red, 17 black, 8 silver. 29 (26%) were pickups, of which 19 (66%) were Chevrolets—no matter their color. 15 (13%)were family sedans.
My First Day in America Student’s name: Danilo Capcha Country of Origen: Peru Class: Reading Professor’s Names: M. Martinez People say that their first day in America was bad; however, my first day in America was good. On March 30, 2000, I had just arrived in the America. I will never forget this day because it was the day that I saw the Twin Towers. I will never forget this day because of the new people I met. I was excited to start my new life in America.
She is currently 43 years old and was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador on September 21, 1970. 22 years later after birth, in 1993 she became an emigrant to her homeland to immigrate to America. I chose to interview Mrs. Pacheco because with her, I felt the most comfortable interviewing on personal information and I already have a formed rapport with her. Having immigrated in 1993 at the age of 22, Mrs. Marcia Pacheco arrived in Manhattan, New York with her newlywed husband to live with his parents. Moving to a big city such as Manhattan didn’t give Mrs. Pacheco that much of a culture shock due to her previous location where she lived in one of the biggest cities in Ecuador, next to the capitol.

During the summer after my sophomore year of college, I spent 8 weeks in Guatemala on a service trip that I ventured into with the naïve notions that I was saving the world. Bright eyed with excitement over the opportunity to make an impact, I was about to step outside of my little bubble into one of the most eye opening and humbling experiences. Probably the most defining moment of the trip happened when I was in Nebaj. As I sat on the La Pista runway, gazing up at the beautiful mountains surrounding me, all I saw was beauty and serenity. I openly marveled at the breathtaking surroundings around me, only to see pained reactions from my host family.
When I was six, my parents decided they needed a change of scenery, so we moved to Titusville, Florida. Only 15 minutes from the space center, it was an interesting place to live. My mom got a job at the center, and we got free passes to see launches. I learned a lot about the space program and must have viewed 15 take-offs. After a while, the excitement wore off and seeing a launch when walking out to get the morning paper was something everyone took for granted.
I visited a few Caribbean counties. When I lose my job my friend Lee invited me to the US. She assured me it would be the best thing for me at the time. I took her on the offer. I went to Barbados in October 2007 to get my visa, which was given to me for ten years I spent Christmas and New Years with my family since I wasn’t coming back home any time I could never forget the night I arrive
Our favorite holydays is New Year, for us Brazilians; we all have to dress in white, as we welcome peace for the New Year. If we were in Brazil we would go to the beach and watch fireworks just like almost the whole country do. I also have family back home; I have my dad, my stepmom, two younger sisters and one younger brother. They are the one that keeps most of the Brazilian culture in me. Every time I go back I come even more Brazilian, with my Portuguese even more fluently.
