The Importance of Water

In recent years has been a big problem that needs to be discussed. According with U.S Geological Survey, just the 2.5% of the total amount of water in earth is freshwater. Worse is to think that only 1.3% of freshwater is for human uses. Hence, making counts, we can use only the 0.007% of the total water all over the world. The lack of water is a problem everywhere. There are two important things that we can do in order to reduce that risk: making speeches everywhere and changing our habits. Water is the most important natural resource. Water is used everywhere, livestock uses, comercial uses, domestic uses, irrigation, public-supply, industrial and so more. We use thousands of gallons every single day. Where is the water going to after we use it? Most of the people waste that water. So that is really an incredible problem. Nobody takes consideration of water after he or she passes over a critical moment of lack of water. There is a situation that makes me really think about the uses of water. This weekend we felt an unpleasant moment when all the news said that we were passing in a time of emergency. How many of us did not hear comments about water this weekend? The main topic to talk about was “water in El Paso”. Maybe I am being ridiculous, but at least one time we have to think carefully about the supply of water into our homes. Critical headlines were posted in El Paso Times these days. For example: “Water emergency: Closure of laundromats, car washes irks residents”, “Mayor Cook declares water emergency in El Paso” or “Water line breaks continue today; utility asks residents to conserve water”. At first sight we had not worried about water, but the critical moment came when some of us suffered the lack of water during one or more days in our homes.
