The Importance of Exercise Now and days, more than 60 percent of Americans are obese. A lot of us feel that we do not have the time to fit exercise into our everyday routine, or schedule. This is a term called laziness, which means lack of exercise. Modern studies have concluded that the average person watches three hours of television a day. Those 3 hours can really have an impact on our fitness, and wellness. Some television stations have devoted days to promote fitness, and playing outside. Nickelodeon has their annual “Go Outside and Play Day”, where the station “Goes Dark” which means they go off the air, and try to pressure the children to go outside, and do activities like jump rope, and ride bikes, and play sports, rather than watching TV, or playing video games. I do not think we understand all of the benefits that exercising brings, or maybe we just do not believe that the results of working out are drastic enough to waste our time on. We do not realize all of the amazing benefits of exercise. There are many advantages, like building up your immune system so that you are less likely to contract an illness, or end up developing cancer. Being strong so say if you fall, you will be less likely to break a bone, and also not damage as easily as someone who rarely makes an effort to attempt to exercise. Simple every day decisions, like taking the stairs instead of the elevator, or escalator will be better than not doing anything at all. There are a lot of businesses are incorporating gymnasiums into their buildings; Navy Federal is one of those. They are free to use the facility whenever they have the time. Once you take the wrong path of being lazy, it is almost not recoverable, being in that state of mind.
