Being a part of drill team has helped me with control by helping others in learning routines or chants with taking charge when others do not. I learned that although I am young, I am in control of my own progress, and I am the one who can change situations for better or for worse. The biggest impact my drill team experience has given me, is determination to push myself to achieve. Without the heart or skill to do something there is no progression. This experience describes the dedication I have to go to college because it showed me I am capable of handling the challenges it may offer.
When I decided to go back to school, knew that college would help me refresh my brain in certain areas that I may need improvement on. I also returned to school because I want a job that will fit with me. Since I have been out of high school, I have had quite a few jobs. The jobs that were employed at, I knew that those jobs were what I did not want to have a career out of for the rest of my life. So, after all the different jobs I had back to back and me not being satisfied with either one.
They take their responsibilities very seriously, and can be counted on to follow through. For this reason, people naturally tend to rely on them. The ISFJ has a difficult time saying "no" when asked to do something, and may become over-burdened. They also struggled with understanding the difference between their ‘best alternative’ and the lens assigned ‘best alternative’. Ethical lenses adopted by individuals tend to influence decision making by affecting how problems and conflicts are approached. Your ethical lens of preference makes you ‘blind’ to the other approaches and makes it difficult to see the benefits of the other lenses and weaknesses of your own lens. This adds tension to groups because what seems like the best solution to a problem to a single team member might be completely inappropriate to another. The team found that these different approaches can create more issues within a team or group if you don’t understand that everyone has their own ‘right approach.’ To a rights and responsibilities lens approaching an issue head on and dealing with the conflict directly might not be fun, but it is necessary in order to move past the problem in the most efficient way possible.
Yet I would not expect someone that isn’t as close to me to immediately grasp what it is I am trying to get across. Taking the description and details out only because it is someone close to me puts a strain on our relationship at times. My frustration and annoyance that I am still being asked to help when I briefly stated I wanted me to take over starts an argument. Being clear in communication could avoid future arguments. After reading this article I see that no matter how long you know someone or how close you are to them the communication needs to be clear.
Yes, that was me. [BEGINNING] So I searched for hours, weighing the pros and cons of each college, finding the one that was right for me. Completed all required steps and paperwork to enroll. The day has come, and I am starting my college education that I have postponed for ten years. First week goes well; all assignments finished on time, family let me have my time to do work.
One reason why it is so hard to change is that it doesn’t have to do with our surroundings, but it has to do with setting our mind to change. Once we do something for a long time it becomes embedded in us and it is really hard to undo what we have been doing our whole life. Another reason why it is hard to change is that people like the way things are and we are stubborn. We don’t like to try new things if our old things work just fine. Plus, change also comes with new information and we usually don’t want to go back and relearn new things.
In Charles Murray’s, “Too Many People Are Going to College,” he claims that students envision college as the best place to mature. Students are no longer expected to be told right from wrong and be handed everything they need. Instead, they are expected to make the right choices that would benefit them the most while reaching out for whatever help they need. Murray states, “The college curriculum demands the students’ most strenuous efforts, so that students who succeed in getting degrees must necessarily have learned how to allocate their time, set priorities, and discipline themselves” (70). The professional duty of a support worker is to find whatever expert advice is needed in order to provide the best possible service. Communication is not always straightforward and on occasions barriers have to be overcome before any effective interaction can take place. The first barrier to check out is the one that you may be creating. You may think that you are doing everything possible to aid communication but may be making it difficult for the person to understand. Barriers can also be caused by failing to follow the steps to good communication.
The answer is doubt. Doubt is the reason we ask so many questions and in the end leads us in the direction of finding new answers. Therefore, doubt is the key to knowledge considering that doubt inflames our urge to ask questions which guide us to answers. There are many assumptions made from the relationship between doubt and knowledge. For a more explicit understanding, doubt by definition is the uncertainty of belief or opinion that often interferes with decision-making.
