Children should be given the correct information according to their ages, needs and abilities. They need to be aware of their bodies, how they function and how to respect them and keep them safe. Children should be made aware that as they mature their emotions will develop. They should be made aware that as they grow older their bodies will change and to not be obsessed with images of celebrities in the media. Children should also be made aware of early and inappropriate relationships and how to look after themselves.
Effective communication is vital when developing positive relationships with children young people and adults. Some people really struggle with their learning or they may have confidence issues, these issues may stop them from communicating freely. Treating them in a calm, friendly, positive, and praising manner could mean the difference between them trusting me and closing down completely and giving up. It is important to have a positive relationship with children and young adults because if they feel comfortable and secure with the adult and their setting whether it is a childminder, a nursery or a school they will separate more easily from their parent or carer. If they feel emotionally secure they are more likely to participate in the play and learning activities.

Actively encourage and support learners in becoming independent. Will lead learning “guided” groups, modelling concepts and language that the adult leading the learning has used. Will alter an activity or change the apparatus if an activity does not meet the learners needs to enable them to achieve or exceed the expected outcome. Are acutely aware of learners capabilities/prior learning/understanding and plan very effectively to build on these. It is important that we communicate information to one another through positive relationships. In order for this to work, we need to consider how we approach and respond to others. In order for a positive outcome, we need to ensure that we do not forget to communicate and behave in a positive manner. We need to check what we are saying and how we say things in moments of excitement or stress, so that the children understand our expectations and the boundaries of what is acceptable.
Panels are usually made up of different agencies and these panels determine the access that is available between settings. These panels aim to support the early identification of children’s needs, monitor children’s progress, ensure a child’s needs are identified and assessed quickly and referred to the appropriate setting. They also coordinate provision through the development of partnership with parents, settings and different agencies and support inclusion in mainstream early years settings. It’s important to identify the need for additional support as early as possible. Without it the children will not get the help they need at the right time and this could have an affect on the child’s well being.
This target will help the child to progress to the next level within their work. The reasons why practitioners need to have effective planning are because it allows them to plan for each child’s individual needs. We plan according to the age and stage of the children, this is because each child works at different levels and rates, this way if the work is too hard for the child and they can’t do it then this can lower their self-esteem and self confidence, the work being too hard they may just give
This is important in children to build their creativity and language skills by learning how to get their ideas across to others. In the work setting it is also very important to share ideas and thoughts, perhaps about a new activity or a way to tackle a challenging child. Good communication is essential in order in work effectively with small children and parents. Without communication it would be impossible to meet the needs of not only the children we would be caring for but also the parents who put their trust in you to take care of their most precious gift of all. Having good communication skills helps us to build strong relationships with not only the children we would be caring for but also the parents and colleagues.
However, we can aim to offer each unique child equality of opportunity suited to their individual needs and requirements. We as staff need to understand the needs and requirements of each individual child. For each child to have equal opportunities, settings they learn and play in must ensure that they and their families are fully included in the setting, taking into account the diversity of the children and families who come to the setting. Inclusion is the process of making this happens. Working towards inclusion involves striving to remove barriers to children and their families.
