“The children of today should be given freedom” How best to raise children has always been an all-consuming question for most parents. In this regard, parents tend to opt for one of two ways; either let children have their way in everything or set limits on what they can do. Giving freedom to children means they have the opportunity create their own destiny instead of being restricted by their parents. So, in my opinion, I strongly agreed that parents should give freedom for their children and power to decide on their own will. This is important for children to develop decision-making and social skills that is crucial in their future life to become independent individuals. Firstly, parents need to take account on how much freedom should be given to their children and their approach in giving freedom should be started by small decisions. For example, giving the children freedom to choose how they would like to fill their pastimes, TV programmes, manage homework and arranged schedule according to their priority. As children develop from one stage to another, they need to expose themselves to surroundings which then will…show more content…
This is mainly because children cannot be taught how to make friends and interpersonal and intrapersonal skills cannot be develop if children are restricted from involving themselves with others. By giving freedom, this promotes opportunities for them to develop friendship. By socializing themselves into the community, they will learn that relationships were build through trust, conflict and cooperation. Meanwhile, children could use friendship to test boundaries by exploring something new through appropriate and acceptable behaviour. However, children need experiences on how they can mingle without any risk of miscommunication. So, they need to start interact with others at such young age that later will help them to adapt themselves into
