The Beach Essay

The Beach Everyone has a place where they go to escape all the pressures and worries of life. There is always that one spot that can soothe all your problems and troubles in times of stress. For me, the beach is the ultimate cure to all of my problems. While I am there, all of my obligations are suddenly erased. As I stroll along I can feel the soft smooth sand beneath my feet. I am taken in by the soothing atmosphere that encircles me. I close my eyes, letting myself absorb the blistering rays of the sun on a scorching summer day. I am comforted by the sounds of the water; the rhythmic pounding of the waves represses all of my worries. I look into the cloudless cerulean blue sky and see the perfection of life. I can feel the mist in the air and the sun reflects off the water in brilliant colors of gold, blue and red, just like a rainbow. When I am at the lake, there are some very distinct smells. The hickory smell of campfire smoke always lets me know that there are marshmallows and hotdogs being roasted. But I can always enjoy the sweet coconut smell of sun tanning lotion that people put on themselves while they lay into the sun to basically "cook." While at the beach I can always get involved in some fun activities, if I’m not able to relax. I can go fishing, good thing that I like touching the slimy scales of the fish and the soft touch of the cold water. Just make sure you don't get the rough, coarse sand in your shorts because you won't like that too much. I can play beach volleyball, that is enjoyable. I can play barefoot and feel the sand between my toes. I like to set on a dock and let me feet dangle in the water. If you're looking for some quiet relaxation at the beach, I don't think that will work out too well all the time. The beach can be really loud throughout the day. You can hear the loud motors of the boat and the waves of the water
