There might not be a cover all solution for the gang epidemic that is occurring all over the United Sates today. But thanks to intervention programs like GREAT we can educate our youths about the danger they face with getting affiliated with gangs. Getting them to realize that these gang members is not family and this is not just them having fun for now but a decision that can affect them negatively for the rest of their
Due to this, the New South Wales government implemented new restrictions on provisional licence, making it illegal for P1 drivers carry more than one underage passenger between 11pm-5am. This is another way of how justice is achieved in law reform on young drivers and it is also believed that restricting night time driving and passenger numbers for young drivers has been found to be very effective in reducing accidents. Furthermore another issue that also
It will automatically decrease crime rates in today’s society and hopefully make it a better place. When harsh punishments are involved for adolescents and teens who commit crimes, many will learn from the mistakes they have made and discourage others from doing such. By 17, a child is no longer considered a child and could certainly be considered an adult. There are many pros and cons on the issue of juveniles being tried as adults, as is evidently seen on television and the internet these days. Each of the issues is beneficial and argued about.
J October 18, 2012 Minors Drinking Age Under age drinking is a major problem. Lowering the drinking age to 18 when with a parent or legal guardian could help this problem in many ways. Parents being able to educate minors watch over minors and limit them, and keep minors from getting in trouble with the law could help limit or stop under age drinking from being a problem. Letting minors drink with adult supervision could be a safe way to educate them about alcohol. First, parents should get to decide what there kids get to do while they are with them.
Many people worry that America’s youth would start drinking at a younger age if the drinking age was lowered to 18. Right now the drinking age is 21 and we see the majority of young people start drinking alcohol before they are legally allowed. These people believe that if the drinking age was 18, then more of America’s youth would begin drinking and misusing alcohol at a younger age like 16 or 15, which could be dangerous for development. Those who are for against a lower drinking age also believe that if the drinking age were lowered, more people in general would engage in alcohol-related activities, thus resulting in more alcohol-related accidents. They believe that by making the drinking age a lower age, alcohol would become more accepted in American society and it would encourage more people to engage in drinking, at a younger age, as well as adults.
If the kids are allowed to be outside during the night by themselves, without any adult supervision, they will be under great danger. The curfew will also protect the teens and kids by keeping them out of gangs and reducing gang activity, therefore also making the neighborhoods safer. By keeping the kids at home they will be safe from the danger of the streets at night. If kids are outside during the night, not only will they be in physical danger, but also in academic danger. Kids that are out at night will be wasting precious time that could be used for more productive things.

When these laws are broken people normally report these activities but in the day and present time it has been more aware to criminal justice officials that most of the criminal behavior is not being reported. In this short comparison paper I will be going over to different metropolitan areas and comparing the rates in crime in a crime category. California holds several different metropolitan areas some are more wide spread than others and can go as far as half the state. The
Because of the legal limitations on guns, people can become discouraged from owning a gun, children are kept safe from gun violence and the chance of homicide or fatal accidents with a firearm are lessened. When legal limitations are put on firearms, it makes people feel that guns are unnecessary to own. Gun control laws help protect our children and teenagers from pointless violence that could lead to death or serious injury. The regulations put in place will in turn lessen the amount of homicides and fatal accidents. Now, think back to that horrible scenario, with limitations put on guns, hopefully no one will have to experience that tragic
They all have the same goal, that is to stop gang violence. “Many gang intervention units strive to remove violent criminals from the street, but they also want to prevent young people from joining or forming street gangs as well. Gang intervention units have community projects such as classes to inform and educate the youth of the dangers in joining and becoming a part of a gang. They also have groups within the unit who infiltrate gangs to find information on initiations and locations to help prevent
Criminal involvement usually starts around the age of fifteen, and people who become criminally involved before the age of fourteen most likely end up having the longest criminal records and most persistent crime rate (Carmichael). In the last fifteen years, the rate of violent crimes among youth has increased by 30% (Carmichael). The most effective way to reduce youth crime is to steer adolescents away from criminal activities before they become too heavily involved.
