After three years of teaching (all three years 1st grade), I am still establishing a “teaching routine” and figuring out the best strategies in the areas of teaching particular skills and behavior management. Therefore, my goals for five years from now would be much the same; continue teaching a self-contained classroom of 1st graders. I want to feel complete confidence and certainty in my teaching before “moving on” to something different. I feel as if it will take the next five years to feel this complete assurance. Possibly ten years from now I would like to tackle an upper primary grade level self-contained classroom or become a Reading and Writing Specialist.

It goes without saying that school factors play a decisive role in the success or otherwise of school students. In the 1970’s, Michael Rutter argues that the ethos of the school was the key to educational success. During the 15 000 hours spent in school, high expectations of teachers, consistency and preparation for lessons all counted towards the achievement of the students. He argues that this was the case even where student’s home backgrounds were different. Interactionists focus on what actually happens in schools, in the classroom, between staff and students and among students themselves.
The expectation will be taught throughout the school year. The first two weeks of school these expectations will be part of the daily lesson plan each day. Teachers will be able to easily incorporate this lesson within their plan. After the second week the behavior expectations will be reviewed every Monday. The first week the students will be able to go around to different areas displaying the expectations for the School Wide Positive Behavior Support.

BSAD 315: Management of Organizations Block one, Spring 2011 The University of Findlay Dr. Martelli Self Reflection Paper Jennifer McCoy 04-February-2011 Jennifer_McCoy_Self-reflection_1 Abstract At the beginning of the semester, each student was given a weekly self assessment assignment. This assignment was justly implemented to make the student aware of their levels of achievement in the management field. These scores were then used to show the student how ethical their behavior, their personal priorities, a personality profile, job satisfaction, and their Theory X and Theory Y leadership behavior. I chose these five assessments because they showed the closest resemblance of my personality and on the job conduct. My answers are not surprising to me, but helped me realize my managerial potential and gave me insight into what areas I need to change or improve.

Program Evaluation (Module 8) Final Project August 15, 2008 Introduction This research paper seeks to analyze programs that assist students with their first year transition into college life. Successful programs can aid in fostering the character and moral development of first year students by providing an environment where students can enhance their social and academic skills within their institution. Oftentimes, a student’s first year in college is viewed as a “transitional year” that sets the foundation for a student’s subsequent years in college. (Gardner, 2001) More importantly, however, the first year of a student’s college experience is a time in which the greatest numbers of college students withdraw or drop out from school. (Misra, 2000) Background Attending college can have a profound impact in one’s life from a personal, social and vocational perspective.
