I do believe that technology has made our lives easier, but it also has made us more dependent on the technology itself. When using the internet for a dictionary you could easily get distracted. Anyone can put anything on the internet, so what you find might not be accurate. Most people find that looking things up on the internet is distracting because you are already on the web so why not check YouTube for a funny video, or update your status on the social network.
How Social Media Affect Us Introduction The social media is a way to communicate with your friends, to write and upload pictures, and it’s also a way to find out about many information and news that are going on around the world. However, how does the social media help spread information around the world and how does social media affect the people who use it? This research paper focuses on the impact and effects that the social media has on people. The impacts and effects that social media has on people are news and other information are spread faster and sooner on the social networks than other places and people are more time on the computer because of social media instead of doing homework or doing a sport or even exercising. I chose the topic of the social media for many reasons.

In the article “ Does the Internet Make You Dumber?,” Nicholas Carr discusses the question of if the internet make you dumber or smarter. Even though many people think that the Internet allows us to get a lot of information and makes life easier, it makes people fall into bad habits. The net regularly interrupts of our lives, and it makes people intersperse, shallow, and inattentive thinkers. Also, the Internet affects our brains.
Today, the meaning of communication has completely changed. It has become much easier to sustain a relationship through social media and the constant interaction that it provides. In contrast, social media can also prove to destroy relationships. Some people may get so caught up in virtual relationships that they have little to no regard for actual relationships. They may become so used to communicating via internet that they lose basic communication skills and can’t hold a face to face conversation.

The disadvantages are that not all households have Internet access, if the survey is sent via email, it may be considered junk mail. The disadvantages in not being able to reach as many individuals due to lack of internet or lack of email accessibility, provides major negative impacts for research.
According to one article in Science magazine, we're not necessarily losing our ability to remember things. Rather, the internet is changing how we remember things. Certain types of memory are improving as well, when the brain reroutes how we recall information, it develops different types of memory capabilities. Also, multitasking sometimes makes your memory worse as well. In other words, as we get older, we have a harder time with distractions online with the Internet, Facebook, and such.

Many things like the printing press, books, maps, the typewriter, the Internet, and the Greek alphabet have helped reading to evolve. The printing press is what caused books to become popular.
