After browsing around the retail store for a moment, we were taken to our table given a menu, and then asked our drink order. With the arrival of our drinks the waitress took our meal selections in which she extended to us some of the menus daily specials. Once the food arrived I notice that it was not our waitress who bought over the order but someone else. This is what makes for the exceptional service—no matter how busy your server may be, someone is always there to take up the slack. As we ate our meal the waitress made many trips to give refills.

Human emotions include love and compassion, which is still not simple enough for Montag’s generation. When Montag thought about Mildred dying he knew he would not cry because, “it would be the dying of an unknown, a street face, a newspaper image”(Bradbury, p. 44). Marriage is supposed to be about love, but he doesn’t even know what that is. They are only married because that is what everyone else does. Mildred’s friends have been remarried more than four times.
Let's not forget, Lake Havasu City does not have many places to grant people with employment. An indoor mall in a town like this would have multiple businesses all in one location. This would be a great hot spot for people to go job hunting and actually have a good possibility of them getting employed. Now this sounds like it would help many people who are struggling in the
Lessens need to purchase “hard copy” of these. * Other competitors; Circuit City, CompUSA, Amazon.com, even Wal-Mart, Target, etc. * Possibility of losing customers to wholesale business. I think that for the most part Best Buy has lived up to their mission statement, because they are at the intersection of technology and life. I believe this to be true because they offer some of the newest technology in their store and it is place where people can actually interact with salespeople in real life.
Paragraph1- In “Attention Shoppers: Your Dreams in Aisle 3,” Sharon Zukin points out that fact that there is so much ease in the way that shopping is done these days. We can shop any time of day or night, anywhere even if we don’t have a lot of money. She states that most critics blame us for buying stuff that we do not need, calling it “Affluenza,” and that the more money we have, the more we spend. Zukin also says that market researchers and mangers will try to identify what kind of things we buy as well as our spouses, brothers, parents, and even our pets and sell it to us. Finally, Zukin argues that whether study consumer guides or push wire carts from a warehouse club to mall, we’re searching for our dreams and we cannot be blamed if we find them in stores.
I walked to the restaurant and noticed my co-worker sitting outside at a table on the restaurant patio next to the busy sidewalk. I wave to her and quickly join her at the table, which was the corner table next to the gate dividing the patio with the sidewalk. The waiter brings out a complimentary bowl of pita bread and hummus then takes our drink orders. It was a typical restaurant setting; tables full of patrons and crowds of people walking inches away from us going about their evening. Before I knew it, an arm flashes in front of us and swipes a hand full of pita bread off our table and runs off.
The time of shopping at stores is limited and depends on shoppers because they can just go shopping when they have free time, but shopping online is contrary. The shoppers can buy whenever and wherever they want. They just need to search web and choose items which they like or want, then they send a message to buyer or make a call, and the items will be delivered. It’s really simple and convenient for shoppers. Like me for example, my model job always need many new clothes, and I’m as busy as a bee with my job, so I don’t have any free time to go shopping, but I still buy new clothes since there is the shopping online service.
Recently I started to work at Texas Roadhouse and constantly notice couples on their phones rather then interacting with each other. Even overheard a woman ask her partner why he wasn’t responding to her text. Have you gone through a dinner date without checking your phone? People make it a priority to constantly check Facebook status or messages that they seem to forget about the person next to them. Technology has made a large number of us rude and oblivious to our surroundings.
Assignment #1: New Urbanism Back in the 1950’s, many cities around the United States had the feel of a community to them where people knew each other, and walking was an essential activity that was used daily to fulfill many needs. However, as time went by, we have shifted our focus of designing communities that are aimed to give us that feeling of being within a community. Nowadays, we build our communities to accommodate the overflow of automobiles and therefore we have dispersed the communities and thus created suburbs that are very unattractive and most importantly inconvenient. The majority of our land use has become a use for building streets and pathways for automobiles. In a sense, this has destroyed the feeling of a community, where a person could basically walk to a nearby shop or park and obtain all the necessities for the daily life.
