The way I improved my paper was taking my instructors constructive criticism and making the necessary corrections, to the best of my ability. I had obvious problems with the comma usage, dangling modifiers, and it was no question that I have to improve my vocabulary. Referring back to the text book and using the Thesaurus definitely helped me make the best revisions that I can make. The most challenging part of this assignment for me was to expand the use of my vocabulary. I know a lot of words; I just don’t use them in my everyday conversation, thus making it more difficult to incorporate in my essay.
Unit one also taught me to reevaluate how important certain priorities when it came to writing. I learned from the other unit one authors, Joseph M. Williams and James E. Porter, that when an essay is read by someone who is looking for grammatical error or plagiarism instead of content, they will often find the error and ignore the content. Although I do still know the importance of grammar and originality, this class and the grading style has let me put those constructs in the back seat until the editing process, instead of making them something I had to constantly worry about. I don’t believe that good writing revolves around grammar, but rather how well your words can convey a message to the intended audiences.
Amazingly an author can really engage his/her audience, but that really takes a lot. Thurston Clarke was convincing his audience on how and why Kennedy’s speech succeeded, but at the same time giving the reader a model for a well worded and put together writing. All he provided were quotes from JFK’s Inaugural Address, descriptive background information on the actual speech and also on Kennedy’s life, and lastly by illustrating Kennedy’s presentation as a whole. This preparation did not prepare me for the previous two days. People I barely knew were asking me about my letter. I tried to pacify the meaning and not give a straightforward answer, however, I remembered Hester’s strength and courage within the novel, the Scarlet letter. In comparison, I began telling those who asked with a new sense of confidence. With every, “What does ‘J’ stand for?” I would reply assertively, “’J’ is for jealously.” However, being asked what the letter indicated was not the worst part.
When he caught him plagiarizing, it was to Jamal’s demise. However, William Forrester came to Jamal’s class – the class had been studying William’s book prior to his unexpected visit – and said that Jamal had permission to use the paragraph. Forrester taught Jamal a few different writing strategies that I’ve never heard about before. The most interesting, to me, was to just type on a keyboard and don’t stop typing. Once the writer feels they have come to a close, edit and fix the grammatical errors.
Submitting assignments with numerous grammatical errors will lower my grade. If so, I am required to take the unacceptable paper and my comments to the writing center before the next assignment is
I kept having to return to my initial question to avoid missing the point. At times I felt that I was not getting anywhere. I now understand that this is all part of doing research and, over time, I discovered some interesting themes. Writing up the dissertation was also a challenge. I had to disregard a lot of information that was not entirely relevant to my research question.

One does not need to be aggressive to make things happen or to win battles. On the other hand Confucianism is a philosophical, religious, movement with an emphasis on studying and scholarship. It also teaches the Tao of Heaven and provides moral training that is quite religious.
The essence of the message of the Analects is the key concept that individuals should think independently, and he strived to define concepts in an abstract, universal manner in which they could be applied to multiple cultures could understand them.
