Smoking and trading tobacco was quickly spread to the entire world after the European explored and colonized the America in the 16th century. By the mid-17th century, every major civilization had been introduced to tobacco smoking. Tobacco smoking is a practice when tobacco is burned and the smoke tasted or inhaled. Nowadays, there’s much more smoker in the world (about 1/3 of adult population), but there’s a lot of people that against smoking too. Well, firstly, people will spend a lot of money to buy the cigarette, and if they want to stop smoking or if they get diseases, they will spend a lot of money to treat it too. As well as we know that Tobacco-related diseases are some of the biggest killers in the world today and are cited as one of the biggest cause of premature death in industrial countries. Many people know the dangers of cigarettes. Due to the fact of that, they still smoke. They still smoke because in the cigarettes there are some substances like nicotine that make the smoker addictive to the cigarettes. Secondly, a smoke-filled room is also bad for non-smokers who have to breathe in the smoke. Moreover, the smoke that is taken by non-smokers is more dangerous than the smoke that is taken by the smokers themselves. So, many people are against smoking and because of that, many laws that are made by the government such as don’t smoke in the rooms or public areas. Furthermore, the smell on clothing and furniture that is caused by cigarettes can last more than a day. On the other hand, if they banned smoking, the government would lose a lot of money from taxes on cigarettes. Besides that, people who are working in cigarettes factory would lose their jobs and as well as people lose their jobs, criminality would be increased and besides that, the public prosperity would be decreased significantly.
