His arrogance towards his family has a negative reaction but he realises that he can't be alone in the world at the end. There are many reactions that the
Amir committed the deadly sin of being envious towards Hassan being in Amir’s life and his value towards Baba, which left him in guilt for witnessing Hassan’s struggle growing up. This all left him in unhappiness throughout his adulthood and married life as he was never able to forgive himself unless he had strived for Hassan’s forgiveness. This is what led into Sohrab’s value in Amir’s life. Therefore, throughout one’s life of sinful deeds, and wrong doings, one cannot forgive themselves unless they seek for others forgiveness and
With the use of understatement and irony, the letter states his values as a loving, yet strict father who only wants his son to succeed and nothing more. "I confess I have often my doubts whether [my writing] is of any use to you", the first line in Chesterfield's letter, shows that he is doubtful as to whether or not his advice will help his son. The use of understatement is very clear here, as Chesterfield is making it seem like his words aren't as important as they really are. "I know how unwelcome advice generally is" is a clear example of this. Chesterfield is making his words feel unnecessary and not worth the time to read.
Amir wishes that Baba would “let him be the favourite” but even though Hassan isn’t Baba’s son he will still always treat him fairly to Amir. Amir’s bitterness towards Hassan perhaps makes Amir an unreliable narrator because the jealousness allows Amir to take over the novel with his emotions rather than Hassan’s emotions, which means the reader only have Amir’s opinions to rely on rather than an general overview of the events. This makes Amir an unreliable narrator because he can choose exactly what he wants to tell the reader as his bitterness
8. Tim O’Brien and Huck Finn are similar because they both are conflicted between doing the right thing and being selfish. Huck felt a loyalty towards Mrs. Watson and Jim so much that he so conflicted between being faithful towards Mrs. Watson for taking care of him and towards Jim his friend that helped him a lot. O’Brien’s situation is very similar because he doesn’t want to go to war yet he doesn’t want to be considered a coward; but going to war is considered the right thing to
He was also very jealous, which I strongly believe led to him not helping Hassan. As the story unfolded, I noticed that Babba was more interested in Hassan. Amir wanted to be in Hassan’s spot. Amir doesn’t realize the true meaning of life until later on in the story. From not helping Hassan the night of the rape, led to extreme guilt.
Since the beginning, Huck was wary of religion. Huck completely changes his view of his religion when he’s faced with the dilemma of whether or not to help Jim get to freedom. He knows that it is unholy to steal another man’s property and that if he were to help Jim get to freedom that would be stealing. But, he also knows that Jim is a human being and his friend. “All right then,” Huck decides in chapter 31, “I’ll go to hell,” (250).
He was betrayed a second time by Baba. Not only was Hassan betrayed by Baba’s actions, but so was Amir. Baba held a heroic figure. Everyone liked Baba and respected him. They looked up to him.
Even with her Father’s prompting she doesn’t seem to understand, as she clearly has prejudice towards people like the Ewells and Cuninghams just for being poor, or different than her. Despite this Atticus still prompted her towards doing what is right, even with everything around her telling her to do differently. Atticus seems to understand this though, and doesn’t scold her when she is prejudice. He knows that its difficult for
“ Well miss, it sounds ungrateful, but I can’t deny I should welcome a little outing once, before I get too old to enjoy it” because like Mr Loveday said the very next sentence, “ I expect we all have our secret ambitions” we as humans all have our little dirty secrets which we dare not speech of and neither realize them if our time has not come. The time for Mr.Loveday to realize his ambition has come when he is let out of “ his world” . He is always a good person when being kept within his circle but he does wrong when he has a chance to do wrong . Therefore, we should try keep people within their community so that they can show their best.Never let them out of place othewise we have to pay. Second, The “ outside” world is full of insanity.Judging by the common sense, Mr Loveday is a mad man in our normal world .
