Sarah Judy Professor Margery Government 24 February 2010 Abortion What do you believe? Should women be able to make the decision to abort a baby if they do not desire to have it? I say that everyone should be entitled to their own opinion. Does it mean the mother does not want to have the child? Or are the circumstances and risks too high that she does not want to bring it into the world to live a bad life?
I can also see that when she was raped, it was not a morally good act so the decision to pass the first step would be a little more complicated than what it seems. I believe that this case however would not pass the “the good must come from the direct action, the bad from the indirect” rule. Even though we know she is a rape victim who became pregnant because of that incident, it would still directly harm the fetus. The woman might benefit from the abortion in more than one way, but her decision would kill the fetus and would not pass the second
Abortion Is abortion murder? What about in times where rape is involved with conception? Who is held accountable for the child? These are just a few of the numerous questions asked when dealing with the heated debate over abortion. There are many viewpoints on the topic, pro-life and pro-choice, and sometimes people will disagree with others in their own category.
The traditional one is when they go inside the uterus and suck the baby out piece by piece. The medical abortion is the one when they give the mother a pill and the beginning and it kills all the nutrients to the baby causing and miscarriage, then the 2nd step process is to take a pill two days later which removes the dead fetus from the body. There have been facts that a pregnancy can be terminated at any time while being pregnant, but many doctors will
We all know that one of the few things that we all seem to agree on is that we have to get rid of the abortion law and make sure that any woman that wants an abortion get one no matter the trauma or distress. Undoubtedly we all agree on it, but fail to realize what the law really means, or we may understand it but fail to get advanced with the law and research it. Even though abortion is looked at as “ a right, a form of justice, a woman’s right to choose abortion,”(Pro & Cons of Abortion) we still fail to realize the after affects of abortion. “In our disgust with the extreme oppression women experience under the present abortion laws, many of us are understandably tempted to accept insulting token changes that we would angrily shout down if they were offered to us in any other field of struggle for woman’s liberation.”(www.google.com / pro/cons of abortion) When we see our demands having any effect at all we are then tempted to convince ourselves that everything that sound good right then may not turn out good for women in the long run. And a lot of us are so fed up with the system that we do not even bother to find out what it is doing so we can fight it and demand what we want.
‘’Abortion is always wrong’’ (12 marks) Some people will agree with this statement because abortion is deliberately terminating a pregnancy by removal and destruction of the foetus, which is parallel to murdering an innocent being; as life begins in the conception therefore abortion is wrong, despite that abortion was legalised in 1997, but you must have an consent of two doctors and under 12 weeks unless severe cases, and this must be carried out in the hospital. However some people will disagree with this statement because you may have reasons such as, finical problems, being raped, unplanned birth, mother at risk, child may be disabled. On the other hand others may say that God would not put you through hardships that you wouldn’t be able to do. But there are some cases some people may be able to choose is conjoined twins where the operation is to separate them causing one of them to die. I believe that abortion is wrong because you are killing a being that would have a future like ours; additionally you are causing pains and sufferings for yourself that you have to go through for a few days.
In the U.S., a federal statute defines partial-birth abortion as "Any abortion in which the fetus is extracted 'past the navel [of the fetus] . . . outside the body of the mother,' or 'in the case of head-first presentation, the entire fetal head is outside the body of the mother,' in order to cause death of the fetus." Along with the ban, there have also been a number of state partial-birth abortion bans.
At the time the state of Texas only allowed legal abortions to women that had been raped or was impregnated by incest. “Roe” which is an alias for Norma McCorvey lied to the US district court in texas about her being raped to allow them to give her the right to abort her third pregnancy.
Constitutionality of Pre-Abortion Procedures Few words can carry out the shivers and shakes that the word “abortion” can. It means to stop, to terminate. With this word comes judgment regardless of the situation. In the conservative political realm, it translates to murder. Abortions are performed for many reasons, varying from rape and incest to teenage and fatalistic pregnancies.
Unless any significant harm would be to come to either the mother, or the child, abortion should be illegal. If a woman would like to file for an abortion, she should have to go through a short process and examination to ensure that she has legitimate reasons to have one preformed. Accordingly, a woman should have to carry out her pregnancy if no harm would come to either her or the baby, where she can decide whether she would like to keep her child, or put it up for adoption to minimize the violations of life, liberty, and to utilize security rights only in extremely necessary
