Running head: Policing from every aspect Abstract: Here in America most of our origins foreign. There were no military structures or public safety during the massive migration into the States. The British were a very elite nation that managed to implement its laws in the states since the beginning. Those laws were adopted and still to this day laws are based on a British system. Since 900A.D. until today spanning over 300 years, community policing has consistently been approach in all corners of the earth. Policing was the responsibility of all able-bodied men, and, of course, young boys as well. (Sabath, 2010) These everyday citizens made sure their neighbors and relatives. 1066, the frankpledge was formed which was a neighboring pact to serve and uphold the community. The joining of nine members from the community at least the age of nine the group became known as tything. Tything was known as the first form of policing. They were not paid for their duties. Tything were directed by a constable. The supervisor of each shire was the shire reeve (or sheriff), who was appointed by the king. (Uchida, C. 2004) The frankpledge slowly lost its practice before the 13th century. Soon after the frankpledge failed the constable system became very popular. The constable was superior in reference to law enforcement. His men ho he supervised were always on call if not on duty. The people selected a new constable annually. Every fall starts a new school year and vehicle vandalism increases more than any other time of the year. The police cannot do too much to prevent these types of crimes. The department always sends out bulletins and tips to help prevent current trending crimes. Although it is an inconvenience the people in the community rather deal with vandalism than violent crimes. The community is very small compared to many other communities nowadays. The community is very please with response times during emergency situations. My fiancé mistakenly activated the silent alarm and she was also pleased with the response time of the department.
