Sociology 111 Extra Credit The Confessions is a video that is about four U.S navy sailors that are arrested for the murder and rape of Michelle Moore-Bosko. Based on this video all men are also interrogated, have negative DNA results, and have no evidence regarding this crime scene. Daniel Williams, Joe dick, Derek trice and Eric Wilson were all charged with the murder of Michelle Moore-Bosko. Although all four men stories were completely different, they all signed a confession form out of fear of the death penalty and the jury didn’t believe them. So they were all found guilty.
Tupac was the biggest Hip Hop icon of the West Coast, he was shot in 1994 but was not killed he then later came to find out that his so called friends Biggie had knew about the shooting and had something to do with it. This then started the famous battle of the East vs. West in the hip hop society. Tupac then in the years to come would make tons of songs that would diss Biggie and of course Biggie would not just take it so he would try and come back at him. Between the two big icon’s Biggie being the icon for the East and Tupac being the icon of the West, they would start a huge war in the hip hop society and cause a lot of hatred. The East rappers and fans hated the West an the West rappers and fans hated the East.

Unfortunately this turn deadly in February of 1988 when a member of Boston P.D. was gunned down where he and other officers had illegal obtained a search warrant. The ethical dilemma they where faced with was should they do everything by the book and not get the job done, or do things a little off the record and get the job done?
Rodney King was shot twice with a taser gun and then beat over 56 times with their batons before being taken into custody. It was believed that Rodney King was the victim of police brutality because of his African-American race. This incident being caught on tape quickly surfaced the media and was being viewed all over the world.

Beginning in the summer of 1979, the city of Atlanta was struck with fear as an alarming amount of African American children of the community were being abducted and later found murdered. During a two year period (1979-1981); at least 28 children, teenagers and adults were believed to be abducted, strangled and murdered. At the time, DNA and forensic testing from analyzed crime scenes and body’s was still in its infancy as to accuracy while the analyzed data was not a staple of courtroom science as it is scene today. Police agencies were also not coordinated as to the sharing of information, data or the collective reasoning needed to analyze such a case. At first, much speculation by the community revolved around the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) since all of the murders were done to African Americans.

The Sandford Police department is faced with many ethical issues since the shooting death of a young black teen in February. The department is facing racial issues in the community that are fueled by the mass media coverage of the case. The police chief has been forced to step down, the community is in a rage, and the news outlets are only reporting information that keeps the community thinking that this case is about the defendant being Hispanic and the victim a young Black man. The Sanford Police department is facing high racial tension among the members of its community. The shooting of Trayvon Martin a young black teen by a Hispanic male; has sparked many protest by the black members of the Sanford community among others.
The 1991 videotaped beating of Rodney King by L.A.P.D. officers, and subsequent riots triggered by the acquittal of the officers involved, rocked L.A. and the nation. The events brought to the forefront concerns about racism and police brutality within the L.A.P.D. Some, including former L.A.P.D. Police Chief Daryl Gates, say the the way Los Angeles responded to these events helped set the stage for the Rampart scandal.
After a high speed car chase, King was forced out of his car and beaten brutally by members of the Los Angeles Police Department. With the assault caught on camera, a glimpse of the monsters police can be was broadcasted and seen by the world. Subsequent to the brutal beaten, Rodney King was hospitalized with broken bones, permanent brain damage, and other critical damages to his body. The event left King and society traumatized. “Can we all get along?” were the words of Rodney king spoken out of fear.
