While it is true that The Hulk has dominant power, police forces hold the same power and therefore we should consider viewing members of the police force as monsters. Police wear a badge that represents the people they serve, their communities, and the government. However, they are often seen as being brutal, bullies, hostile, having too much power, and being deceiving. Just like The Hulk, police “smash” things as well; but instead of smashing buildings they smash people. Police brutality is not an uncommon thing, it has been happening for years. A minor case of police brutality may consist of the police leaving someone with a few broken bones, but a major case may result in death by police. After a high speed car chase, King was forced out of his car and beaten brutally by members of the Los Angeles Police Department. With the assault caught on camera, a glimpse of the monsters police can be was broadcasted and seen by the world. Subsequent to the brutal beaten, Rodney King was hospitalized with broken bones, permanent brain damage, and other critical damages to his body. The event left King and society traumatized. “Can we all get along?” were the words of Rodney king spoken out of fear. People were not only afraid, but feared that they would fall victim next. Kelly Thomas was another victim of police brutality. Thomas was a thirty-seven year old homeless man who suffered from schizophrenia and lived outside on the streets of Fullerton, California.
