The Chapter “Pericles’ Funeral Oration” in Thucydides’ The Peloponnesian War is an account of Pericles’ speech for the first soldiers to die in the Peloponnesian War. In this essay I will outline how Pericles’ speech reflects the values of Athens; how they are a proud people of tradition, how they believe strongly of abiding in the law and how, above all they believe in doing all that they can in order to defend their city. Pericles’s speech for the dead says a lot about the character of the Athenian people at the time. For one thing, they are a people who take pride in their traditions and customs. This can be seen in the act of the burial ceremony itself, how “two days before the ceremony the bones of the fallen are brought and put in a tent which has been erected, and people make whatever offerings they wish to their own dead” (Thucydides 143).
As the rescue efforts continue the family must be updated on the developments of the rescue process. Once relatives are rescued, how will or how can the family get access to relatives? Finally, possibly most importantly the family members must be assured that all necessary procedures are taking place to ensure the rescue of relatives. Just as the family members that are involved with this incident there are potential needs for the employees of Chilean Copper Mine. The employees are accustomed to the operations of the mine, so the communication will have to be concise and conducted formally.
He volunteered the Boys and Girls Hope charity, the March of Dimes, and the Boys and Girls Club of Arizona. Pat Tillman didn’t just fight in the army; he also made contribution as a civilian. Unfortunately, Pat Tillman was killed by friendly fire. This does not lessen his role as a great American hero. It takes a tremendous amount of courage for a person to serve in the U.S. Military.
Chilean Mine Communications BCOM275 February 25, 2013 Chilean Mine Communications Communication #1 to the families of the trapped miners The potential needs of the families would be to know that the company and officials was doing everything possible to aid in the rescue of their loved ones. They would need to believe that the company cares about the miners trapped and their families. The person who should address them should be the mining company’s president. The company’s president I would address the families face-to-face and by video out of respect for them and the miners. I also would want this personal and up close communication so that I can comfort people who may need it.
the wounded warrior project thanks the veterans for subjecting themselves to the violence of war that eventually leads to life changing injuries. This brings a sense of sympathy towards the wounded individuals and perphaps even guilt , but also a great sense to veterans who actually get to watch the video. This awareness has lead the congress and federal government to promote the forward looking policy such as the land mark , “Caregiver and Veterans Omnibus Health Service Act of 2010” ,which was signed by President Obama into law. This policy helps legestalative improvements that aid in closing the gaps and eliminating barriers to improved mental health for warriors ,their families and caregivers. The policy has also fostered economic empowerment of the wounded veterans by eliminating educational and employment barriers and helps to ensure the veterans have access to longterm rehabilitative care for severely wounded

Masking Poor Communication Interpersonal Communication Masking Poor Communication After reading the article “Close Relationship Sometime Mask Poor Communication” (Proquest, article, Ashford University Library), I am not surprised at the findings. It is very easy to fall into a situation with a spouse or friend who can cause you to take that person for granted. We always assume that we know what the other person want because of the things that we have experienced with them. Spouses think that there is an automatic understanding and communication between them but, the truth is, they communication just as good with a stranger. "Although speakers expected their spouse to understand them better than strangers, accuracy rates for spouses and strangers were statistically identical.
As the public becomes more aware of the facts and finally realizes the sacrifices made during the Vietnam War; Civilians are starting to show appreciation, gratitude, and welcoming home our Vietnam Veterans. Although the ridicule and severity of the abuse these brave men and women faced will never be wiped from their memories; in time the efforts being made to show our gratefulness may bring them some peace. America should welcome home all Vietnam Veterans, and thank them for their service for they served our country
1.5 Certain attitudes towards a resident with dementia can also affect the way they are cared for , some people may not feel comfortable approaching the person because they wither done know how to talk to them and some people assume they are violent and therefore fear them . if a resident gets violent its due to frustration and may not be able to express themselves , this is why it is important to approach them in the right way. 2.1 sitting down talking to them at comfortable pace fior them , help them create a history book , this will make communicating with them so much easier in the future , show affection ( they are still human beings and still want to be loved ) , help them join in with activities with other residents
Being a genuine helper also involves honesty and forthrightness. Empathy – being the ability to accurately experience the internal frame of reference of others while remaining objective.
