Book Club 4 The ending to my book "Tattoos on the Heart" was very touching. The last chapter was called kinship. How we need to be a family and stick together. When we are a family we can help each other. When someone falls down we can all help him up.
This pathos describes how Lincoln would care for his people and how he would put the task of helping the people suffering from the war first, serving as a strong pathos since it is not only emotionally affecting his people, but also encouraging and giving them hope. The war destroyed millions of families. Lincoln in the first place gave his attention on healing the people and their families, instead of describing how beautiful the future would be and giving unrealistic assumptions This pathos and ethos made people, no matter the North or the South, to feel that they are in unity. Both sides were suffering the same war and urged to end it, while they shared a same religion. God plays an important role to connect the people together, which enhances Lincoln’s credibility in his speech besides his position as a president and occasion of this speech.

As citizens of this world, it is our duty to take care of our brothers and sister of this earth. Question 2: The coming of the baby has, actually, led to two main changes to the gold miners at the Roaring camp in terms of their responsibility and behavior. For the one thing, the men are more responsible for the life of the little child after his mother’s death. Right at the time the baby comes into being; they have a wish of “contributing anything toward the orphan”. And the miners are willing to devote some of their values, which are very hard to gain, to him such as money note, gold, silver… In particular, a man called Kentuck touches the child very tenderly and embarrassingly like a father. In the following day, “a formal meeting” is held by the miners to decide how to bring up the child in the mining camp as they, for sure, do not plan to give the
What if it were one of you family members suffering like this due to the neglect of the gas company. I will keep on fighting for our community to be safe and healthy. I would hope that you all will do the same. I think we need to write them a letter explaining the findings and ask them to a community meeting for this would be the best approach to start with. Now if the gas company does not respond, we need to take this further and possibly taking it to the newspapers.
Through their weeks together Morrie is also successful at drawing emotion out of Mitch; during their last lesson, as they are hugging goodbye, Morrie sees Mitch begin to cry. Morrie is adamant about rejecting pop-culture norms and values and maintaining his own. He has learned to accept his death and manages to continue offering love and compassion until he dies. Morrie also accepts and does not become ashamed of his disabilities. This is evident in the lines ("Take my condition.
The Survivors of the Holocaust: General Survey Because the trauma of the Holocaust was both individual and collective, most individuals made efforts to create a “new family” to replace the nuclear family that had been lost. In order for the victims to resist dehumanization and regression and to find support, they shared stories about the past, wishes for the future, joint prayers, poetry, and expressions of personal love and hope. Imagination was an important means of freedom from their crushing reality. It gave them hope and helped them look past the present to formulate plans for an uncertain future. Looking at the
There are Hero’s in our everyday life and we may not even recognize it. Our acquaintances, firefighters, police officers, teachers, doctors, nurses, soldiers and even the people we live with. Rescue workers care for their citizens and cities; they answer calls, fight blazing fires and rescue those from disaster on a daily basis. Teachers change the world by spreading knowledge and making an impact on their students from the classroom to the rest of their lives. Doctors and
He is in critical condition following a heart attack, stroke, and staph infection. Hearing about her father from her personally resonates deeper with me than if I were to hear it from another teammate or from a third party, especially since I can relate to how she’s feeling. My teammate confides in me while dealing with her father’s illness and has turned to me for support. The insight I gained from my personal experience with my mother helped me guide my teammate through her difficult time
