Dr. King & Peter Singer: Malaria

As citizens of this world, it is our duty to take care of our brothers and sister of this earth. Those people on our planet that we may not know, count on us to help them through there tough times and try to express their needs as much as they can. Malaria is something that has been a constant problem in this world; affecting many people on our earth with this sickness and not having the proper tools to keep safe from this killer disease. Two philosophers, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and Peter Singer both believe that We as humans on this earth needs to help all of those who are in need. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., an activist for not just the African American community, but for all people has a philosophy that stands out amongst many. His works of humanity work and standing for justice of the segregated people of the African American community in the United States in 1955 to many years are known all over the world. In 1955 was the start of the protests against discrimination and segregation against the African American communities especially down south. He led the black boycott in 1955-1956 of segregated city bus lines and in 1956 got a major victory and was known as a civil-rights leader when Montgomery buses began to operate on a desegregated basis. His philosophy of non- violence action plays a big role on how people should solve problems. Dr. King really made in an impact of many people through his work, including his letter for the Birmingham Jail. Dr. King talked about how we as human being have the earth right to take care of one another. Dr. King’s philosophy comes in hand and hand with the topic about Malaria. The people who are affected by malaria are being put on the back burner because of our selfish ways.
