VETERANS DAY  Veterans Day is often celebrated by wearing poppies, and with parades, ceremonies and moments of silence to honor and remember those who have served in the United States armed forces. Veterans Day is a federal holiday honoring military veterans. The holiday occurs on November 11th each year. When this falls on a weekend, it is observed on adjacent weekday. Veterans day is important to Americans because it is a way of showing thank yours for what the veterans did for us. Veterans day is a special day to show how much we appreciate what our soldiers have done for us. At my school we sell these things called flags for vets to raise money for the troops. They also have parades and memorial services for those who lost their life in the line of duty. Congress passed a bill to amend Veterans Day to the fourth week in October. It was signed into law on June 28, 1968, by President Lyndon Johnson. Veterans day is important in the United States because we believe in honoring the men and women who fought for our country. There are many people that have not only sacrificed months and years of their lives for our freedom, but people have died to keep our country free. That is why it is important to honor them on Veterans day. Veterans day is an annual American holiday that honors all military veterans. It is usually observed on November 11, however it may be adjusted if the 11th falls on a weekend. This day is so important to Americans because it is the one day a year dedicated to all veterans who serve our country so faithfully. The veterans keep Unites States Citizens protected every day with great courage and determination, they are most deserved of a special day of remembrance. It was originally named Armistice Day but in 1954 it was renamed Veterans Day. Veterans Day honors both fallen and living military servicemen and servicewomen. We observe
