The skillful shading and smooth finish of the petals draw attention to the vibrancy of the flowers. The contrast between the dark shades in the middle of the flower shows the depth & detail to the painting. As an artist she liked to balance the picture in all ways, so that if the painting was to be folded in half, both sides would be about the same. The scale of the painting is amazing. She truly believed in painting the flower close up to show the full detail, instead of painting a flower to the true scale whereas you would only see a tiny flower.
Leonardo experimented with oils in his paintings along with versatile colors to build up depth and layers. Leonard is later referred to the Duke of Milan by Lorenzo de' Medici were he paints the most famous fresco in history "The Last Supper" and later going on to another famous piece "Mona Lisa". After the passing of Leonardo it was discovered that he had many ideas of machines, tanks and helicopters that could be based on todays ingenuity. One of the types of art during this time was painting and sculpting. Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci were two of the most famous painter/sculptors of the Italian Renaissance. Michelangelo was born in 1475 and accomplished many of the famous works of all time before his death in 1564. Some of his works are the painting on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel and he also did many nude sculptures. Another famous painter of this time was Leonardo da Vinci.
What I love about Rembrandts portrait is (like I said before) every single thing about his portrait due to his time period. It’s nearly like staring at somebody’s face hundreds of years ago, literally, it’s like looking into the past. The textures in the skin, the details in the nose, the unending detail in hair on the man’s face. Truly ahead of his time. When you look at Rembrandts Portraits you truly realize that this man was born with a gift.
He created two of the most respected pieces of art in human history, The Mona Lisa and The Last Supper, both of which still maintain their credibility as masterpieces to this day. Da Vinci’s notebook also proved him to be a Renaissance man, he had many great ideas in various subjects including art, writing, anatomy and scientific design. Da Vinci’s notes show primitive ideas for inventions that wouldn’t be fully developed until centuries later. This flood of intelligence is what prevented a lot of his ideas from fully developing. Since da Vinci excelled in many subjects, he never had enough time in his life to completely focus on mastering one field in particular.
He left amazing art behind soon died of an unknown cause in 1488. Although he was a great painter, as a sculptor, it is accurate to say there were many beautiful works of his own in which it could be styled as Renaissance art. During his career, Verrocchio’s famous works include the “Equestrian Statue of Colleoni” and “Christ and Doubting Thomas”. In the bronze Colleoni statue, the style goes back to the Classical era of art but Verrocchio adds realism and expression. He is showing emotion in the horse and leadership of Bartolomeo Colleoni.

Like all of us, he started out with baby steps, slowly learning the ways of music. He is truly the greatest italian sculptor, painter, architect, poet and engineer to have ever lived. Michelangelo never liked to consider himself a painter, he preferred to be revered for his work as an architect in the later years of his life. The Sistine Chapel is known worldwide and is the most famous chapel in the official residence of the Pope in Vatican city. Michelangelo’s representation of the Genesis covers twelve thousand square feet and took him four years to paint the amazing frescos.

Thus, I think Mona Lisa is the most suitable artwork for me to mediate different meanings produced since the Renaissance until the postmodern world.
