Project Management can be consider as a specialized management approach that focus in the planning and administration of time and resources to successfully accomplish a specific project. We understand projects as the grouping of human and nonhuman resources joint on a specific time constraint to achieve an establish objective. Projects are unique, they usually produce something it doesn’t exist and they may be huge ventures with large numbers of resources or just small projects with a few skilled professionals working on it. Due to the nature of projects they are planned and completed into different stages. These project phases as a whole are the life cycle of a project and they should end up with the delivery of an established goal. The project methodology can be applied regardless the industry or the type of organization. It has been used in the main industries for decades and it is a common practice in all kind of organizations like Public Services or NGOs. A skilled Project Manager doesn’t need to be a technical expertise on the subject to effectively run a project. He applies his project methods knowledge to effectively use the team know-how, the resources and the time allocated to the endeavour. Therefore a Project Manager has the capacity to work in different scenarios, activities or industries without the need of a career change. I personally find fascinating this characteristic of Project Management and one of the main reasons I have chosen it as my desire future occupation. The learning possibilities I may discover working in different projects, with different people and different circumstances are endless and consequently an exciting opportunity.
