How did you interpret the problem? The first thing was to read the situation, examine the picture, and then think of all the obvious possibilities (one at a time/trial and error). It was along the same lines as a process of elimination and after a few tries, the answer came to me. The tendency for some people is to become frustrated, and give up or claim it cannot be done. However, I am the type of person who keeps at it until I solve the problem.
Researching was rated a little lower than the others so now I know that I need to focus on making improvements in this area. In knowing and understanding my personal competencies I will be able to improve my critical thinking skills by being able to apply logic to my thinking and evaluate arguments successfully. Following instructions and coping with pressure was atop my list. Pressure and how we deal with it shows us what we are made of and how we will deal with situations. Some people do their best to just avoid pressure altogether.
My manager has recently told me that my strengths also fall in the logical range. I tend to lean towards policies, I am great at using logic to solve problems, and I make to do lists and following them logically. I believe that sometimes my logical thinking keeps me from doing impulsive things that would be fun, but I see those situations as out of control. I do desire to be more creative and artistic, but know that I will need to spend time learning those talents because they do
In this essay I am in agreement with Kierkegaard that in the present age, we as a society lose character in the process of reflecting upon what we are ought to, and expected to do. According to Kierkegaard, the present age is considered to be reflective; reflective in a way that we allow deliberation to take over our sense of action. Having said this, we always tend to get lost in our thoughts. Though we may have excellent ideas we plan on acting upon for example, there is always a sense of thought that holds us back from actually acting on what we planned to do. At the beginning of the text, Kierkegaard says, “before taking the step, he deliberates so long and so carefully that he literally chokes with thought” (3).
Many of the tasks that I am assigned have an official end date and have to be done, there are not a lot of extensions. Without organization, files can get misplaced, data is lost and clients get angry causing me to lose work time and potentially miss a deadline. According to Philpot (2011), time management is all about planning the day in order to make the best use of time. Being able to plan out a project with proper time management skills keeps my stress level down by giving me a schedule to stick to and small deadlines to meet along the way. This keeps the work load manageable by not getting tasks backed up.
Now I am able to ask questions that are more intentional without being concerned with the client being offended. Before it presented a challenge because the questions would seem to be directed at the client. Instead the questions are directed at the problem, which stands alone. My approach is having my client and myself partner together to discover the full meaning behind the problem. During the deconstruction process I will also search for answers to who was involved, what past events led up to the problem, and how the problem has changed over time.
Just like in any relationship personal or professional, we will have to learn to compromise. Sometimes it will be in our favor and sometimes it won’t, but what matters most is how these will affect the group project in the end. Overall, these two assessments have helped me to realize where I am currently and where I would like to see myself in the future. By taking the information I have received and thinking critically about
While collaborating on these issues, the real reason while things were happening could be revealed. It would also give James and David a chance to figure out a solution that will help each one of them make their job easier. The best solution would be a win-win solution for James and David and eliminate the conflict. 2. If the selected strategy is not successful, what is your alternate strategy?
Taking these factors and weighing them against one’s employment options should aid in making the decision. It is imperative he or she make the right decision; failure to do so may result in overwhelming consequences. Some of the immediate employment options may reflect entry level positions, management positions, or independent positions; these are the options they should be comparing the factors against. Entry level positions will be the easiest jobs to obtain. They only require a low level of job
