The difficulty pushed me to work harder and harder. I can assert that my perseverance and the hard work that I devote in my studies will help me in maintaining good grades. I understand that personality and character are important factors for maintaining my position in the Honors class. Every single experience I had in life helped me define who I am. Every lesson learned, every obstacle surpassed, every success savored and every dream reached, added up to my own personal magnification.
During my high school career, I have put a lot of effort forward in my schoolwork and have challenged myself with advanced courses. I have successfully been competing against my other classmates to try and be the best I can be. I have received honor roll every semester of my high school career. Being selected as a potential candidate for NHS proves my academics, but what makes me a great candidate is not just my average. It is difficult to narrow down many instances in which I have showed great leadership.
I take people feeling into consideration more than I take my own. I feel like people aren’t being loved enough and that I have to be the person to give them that love and support. These positive characteristics make up who I am and the reason for me waiting to help
My cooperating teacher told me that it’s a good thing if the administration knows your name for positive things not for discipline problems you cannot take care of in your own classroom. As I have had to learn by experience and practice, classroom management is all based on judgment calls. There is no rule book for classroom management and each and every class is different. Having read this book a few months ago when EDU 511 first started I have had a lot of time to be in the classroom. In practice, there are certain behaviors that I have learned to ignore.
Positive Behavior Support Teacher Interview Shabena Din Grand Canyon University: SPE 522 May 8, 2013 Positive Behavior Support Teacher Interview With first look, I thought that this interview would be rather simple, with the fact I did not need to be pressure concerning who to interview. I work in a school; consequently I thought I would objectively interview the English as a Second Language teacher that I had worked with in my school and then be finished with the assignment. Then a few days later, I figured that I am familiar with most of what the ESL teacher would answer in reply to my questions. For this reason I appropriated to take this assignment a slight farther and make a determination to interview a first grade special
Yes, we have known each other before attending college but this transitioning stage in life has really opened my eyes to my own reality. Maranda and I have known each other for about 6 years now, and I can honestly say she has helped me become the person I am today. If it was not for her getting on me, pushing me to get my things done and us working together with homework, I would probably still be in culture shock today. Every day she inspires me to do my best in college so that in the future I will be able to help provide for my family and me. Getting to know her the past few years has definitely helped made our friendship stronger, both inside and out of school.
All it really takes is for one teacher, just one, to give you the extra push that you need to succeed academically. For me it was my high school history teacher Mr. Zigler. From my freshman to senior year of high school, Mr. Zigler would tutor me in all subjects to help me succeed and to help me get into advanced placement classes as well. Not only that, but I trusted him with everything, it was like he was my personal therapist in school, being that I didn’t have that at home. It was with his help that
Success and Achievement Success can be defined as the favorable prosperous termination attempts or endeavors. Achievements come from success, determination, and setting goals. I have achieved numerous achievements and successes, in my life. Also, I have experienced success and achievements in my academics in high school. Having a job has helped me to realize what it takes to achieve success in all I do in school and outside to help make me a better person.
One of my mentees told me that he would skip school because the other students would pick on him. I’m glad that he can learn without fear out being bullied. Uniforms have brought forth an opportunity for all students to work together without being judged by other students about what clothes are being worn. The only thing that matters is knowledge. Instead of students focusing on what the next student has on, they are paying more attention to their studies.
It was only when I finally entered college that I realized I had always loved working with, and the idea of taking care of children; and what I truly wanted to do with the rest of my life was to teach children with mental disabilities. My career goal, which I have slowly been working towards throughout my 2 years in college, is to become a special education teacher for elementary students. I am currently signed up as double major in elementary and early childhood education and psychology in Queens College. I have taken many pre-requisite classes, as well as several courses specifically designed for elementary education. These courses allowed me to be taught by actual elementary school teachers, who have years of experience with working with children, and the knowledge and advice they were able to pass on truly helped me better understand what I was signing up for as an education major, and helped my improve the way I teach so that I could articulate in a way that would be comprehensible to students of a young age.
