I must insure that the house they live in is safe at all time and report any faults to our Maintenance Team. I like after their everyday needs , I insure that their clothes are clean. I help them with personal hygiene and that they eat a health diets. I keep an eyes out for any health issue and report these to our nurse so that they can be treated if needed or she will give me advice on how to care for the child. I may also have to take that child to the hospital or doctors .
Kelly Phillips 1.4 Explain how current health and safety legislation policies and procedures are implemented in own work setting or service Employees have the responsibility for the health and safety for themselves and everyone else. Posters are displayed around the work setting outlining responsibilities of the staff and parents. The posters give outline information about every day running of the nursery in the activity they are carrying out. There are also policies regarding food and drink, arrival and departure, non-collection of children, nappy changing, outings, administrating medicines, missing children, safeguarding and fire drills. Working with children in a setting we have to follow this act in keeping them safe.
Unit 054 Outcome 1 1.1 Duty of care in my work role as a play worker is to ensure the safety of the children in my care by helping the child to develop as an individual and cope with any potential dangers they may face within the setting. I am to promote a healthy immune system by ensuring healthy food is available to the child. I am there to listen to the child, and learn to understand what the child wants and needs. 1.2 In my setting we have a duty of care to safeguard children, we do this by: • Completing risk assessments and implementing procedures to avoid potential hazards that could injure or harm the children. • All staff follow a set of rules for the setting where certain behaviours are not acceptable and we have strategies in place to discourage behaviour which may harm or distress others.
All nursery staff must have regard to the standards and must also meet regulatory requirements and the conditions of their registration. The standards focus on securing positive outcomes for children under eight and reducing risks to their welfare and safety. Children deserve the best possible for their well-being and development. When parents leave their children with us in the nursery I am entrusted with the care of these children and is important that I give the best alternative care possible and that standards are maintained to ensure the safe and well-being of the child. THE EARLY YEARS FOUNDATION STAGE: The early years foundation stage is a

Each morning, all over the world, parents wake up, get themselves as well as their kids dressed and ready to go, and then drop them off at daycare. Sometimes it might seem as if it is not the best idea. It isn’t a bad idea either. Rules and regulations are set in place to ensure that the children are well taken care of. There are policies on the number of caregivers versus the number of children, so each one get an adequate amount to attention.
HSC 34 1.1 My understanding of duty of care is ensuring the wellbeing and making sure the residents are safe in my care. To make sure we provide a daily personal needs for the clients/ service users according to their daily needs by following their care plans 1.2 By protecting clients health , wellbeing and clients and stuff rights and enabling them to live free from harm, abuse and neglect. By provided with the required training need to, to do the job right. 2.1 Is dilemmas when the client refused to have a wash/bath every time and it end up in conflicts between me/carer and a client where i have to explain the important of higyne and what might happen if they don’t have their bath. To make sure they agree to what they have to do i have to make sure they understand the important of what they have to do and why they have to and asure them that I will be able to assist in anyway they need to be assist with.
Any medication given to the children is recorded accurately and parents have to sign a form from the setting. Fire procedures Fire safety instructions (fire action) should be clearly displayed in the nursery. Staff and children should be aware of the fire drill procedures. Fire exits should be clearly marked and kept clear at all times. A register of both adult and children should be completed every morning and in event of fire the register should be taken in case of an evacuation.
