Drinking and driving is very dangerous and many people have their lives shattered and ruined because of drunk drivers. That is why it is becoming socially unacceptable. People are finally starting to realize how dangerous this can really be. With the help of new laws, and continued hard work, the number of drinking and driving accidents should be very little in the future. Anyone that is caught while intoxicated should never have the right to drive again.
By the third offense of impaired driving you while get a 30 day suspension, must attend a mandatory alcohol treatment program, 150$ fine and for six months ignition interlock. Texting While Driving I believe that texting while driving is not a good idea and you shouldn’t do it. It can be deadly dangerous. The government should do something about it. Also safety issues can occur while texting while driving. People might not think anything by it when they are doing it and they don’t realize all the permanent damage they can cause.
Drink Driving is a serious offence that has MANY negative outcomes to it. Not only are you at risk of losing your licence, affecting day to day tasks and also receiving a heavy fine, but you are also putting yourself, your passengers and any person’s life, who is on the road, in DANGER. Paragraph 1: Each year on Victorian roads, approximately a quarter of drivers are killed or injured from drink driving related incidents where the driver has had a Blood Alcohol Concentration level of at least 0.05 or greater. According to the Transport Accident Commission, with a blood alcohol concentration limit of 0.05, the driver is already doubling their chance to be involved in an accident. At 0.08 it is seven times the risk.
There's all kinds of ways for them to trick you or get around certain situations so that they can bust you for drinking. Most of time officers aren't allowed to enter a house unless a doors open or the owner of the house lets them in. To stop the drinking and driving the cops are more strict and will take you to jail if your under the influence while driving. I think if the drinking age was lowered the problems with under age drinking would not be nearly as high as they are now because of the age being 21. This solution could help solve the problems to stopping drinking and under age kids driving under the influence.
Driving while talking should be banned. When a cell phone goes off in a movie theatre or at a concert it is very irritating but, at least our lives are not endangered. When we are on the road, irresponsible cell phone users are more than irritating; they are putting our lives at risk. When certain kinds of driver behaviors are shown to be especially dangerous, we wisely draft special laws making them illegal imposing specific punishments, so talking on a cell phone in a moving vehicle should be no exception. Many of us have witnessed drivers dialing and talking on cell phones, resembling drunk drivers swerving all over the roads.
Cigarettes are bad for anyone who smokes them. It is also a very costly habit. You may lose all your money before you know it, and you’re not even spending it on something that will last. Why pay extra money to the government? With the high taxation of cigarettes, you're basically donating your money to them.
But driving to work will actually do the opposite. By driving a car the gas produce from burning petrol and diesel is not good for the atmosphere. It pollutes the air, and that’s poisonous to the environment. The car gases (petrol) are harmful to the environment because gases destroy the ozone layer and the carbon dioxide stays in the atmosphere adding to the global warming problems. Less driving will be the best thing for the environment because it means fewer emissions.
That just leads people to want to take the drugs again. A repetition of a drug can lead to addiction, and addiction can ruin ones life completely. Aside from addiction, drugs are against the law. If someone is caught with a drug, depending on the case, they could be tried and convicted for a felony. That’s a lot of jail time.
Over time the death penalty could cost well over one million dollars more than life-in-prison cases. For one person to be put to death it would take at least up to $500,00 for one inmate. This is absolutely absurd amount to end another person’s life when they could spend their entire life in jail with the guilt. This money could be invested into each and every school nationwide.
