I really need that now as I’m in high school and there are more challenges than before. Ms. Melinda pushes me to improve my technique and increase the difficulty of my dancing. Trying new things led me to places I never thought I could go and chances I never thought I would be able to get. Ms. Melinda has given me so many chances and opportunities. I really appreciate
She was no longer in the jungle surrounded by trees, plants, and animals, but by the harsh reality of social rules that exist today in high schools. She learns what is accepted in high school and what isn’t. She befriends social outcasts Janis and Damien and learns about the various cliques. Cady quickly realizes the bureaucracy of the school, how everyone was conformed in different groups, how every girl praised the “Queen Bee”, Regina George, how The Plastics is the “A-crowd” with most power and authority. She notices how the cafeteria was split amongst the Preps, Asian, Nerds, Cool Asians, Girls-who-eat-their-feelings, The Plastics, Jocks, etc.
Unlike Claire, she was only popular because her family was rich and she had superior things, I was popular because I chatted with anyone I saw. I was head of the cheerleading team, a well-trained track star, and maintained high honor roll grades. With me being a cheerleader, I knew majority of the players who played on a sports team which made up most of my high school. Since I had good grades that meant I did a lot of studying, which got me to know the “nerds.” Most of the nerds that went to my school belonged to different social clubs, so I was associated with them as well. Even though my parents drove nice cars, I always rode the bus to school, so I communicated with all my peers on the bus.
Ender would stay up and train and study everything he could to beat all the missions he had. “What matters is that he won the game that couldn’t be won” (66) ender had a lot of problems with the other launches because of his success and would often have to stand up for himself. Before ender made his moves he would study the actions of the enemy in his head to map out his action plan and make his move. No one else was as determined to be the best as ender was. And by doing what he did he was success full in what he wanted.
Death of a loved one has a negative impact on everyone who loved that person. After my grandfather died I started to rebel. After what seemed like hours I had picked myself up from the ground, I didn’t really feel like doing anything. I couldn’t eat or sleep and I couldn’t bring myself to go out with friends to try to enjoy myself knowing
Some of the names that were appearing on the top of the charts surprised me. Who knew that the president of the math club had such a strong throwing arm? Is that my lab partner from freshman year passing every other player in sprints? These girls were working harder than any sports team I had been apart of. Amazingly, girls who had little history with each other were gathering together during breaks, laughing and encouraging teammates.
By this time, we were starting to get a bigger crowd that was attending the games. Before the first round of sectionals, we were nervous and not able to picture ourselves with a sectional title. We had to play one of the toughest teams in the first round, so we were extremely nervous and could barely control our emotions. After a very nerve racking 24 minutes, we won the first game. We got the confidence that we could beat the other teams in our sectional after this big win.
In high school, I continued to excel, with a new goal in mind, obtaining entrance into The National Honors Society. This elite society is for the top scholars of the school. I was placed in the AICE Program (Advance International Certificate of Education) which challenges my academic power. I succeeded in the most rigorist courses with the National Honors Society on my mind. My hard work soon paid off because in the spring of my 11th grade year I was inducted into the National Honors Society Gold Key Chapter.
I am very nerdy, I enjoy school work and I am pretty decent at it; I am in the National Honors Society, National Spanish Honors Society, and National Art Honors Society and I also take mostly Honors and Advanced Placement Classes. Another quality I have is being artistic, I am in art III and I have had more pieces that I can count in art shows. I am athletic as well, I did dance seven years, cheered five years, and did track. Another significant trait I have is that I am hardworking, I always give everything I do 100%, I work overtime as well as work hard in school, and I took more classes that I needed to this
This is how cliques develop. The most famous cliques that I remembered at my school were the bullies, nerds, partiers, jocks and the snobby rich girls. The members of these cliques then compete to stay in and try to climb to the top of their group. In high school we are all labeled, sometimes not by choice, some we are proud of, while some we want to
