The next topic that I will discuss is the conception of teens in society. Teenagers are the most misunderstood people in society. They are treated like children but yet expected to behave like adults. Teenagers at times seem to be self obsessed with their own world or with their social commitments. This however, is a misconception, the real reason that
Young children can be self conscious they can think, but they don’t think about thinking. Self consciousness is exacerbated by the Imaginary Audience. Teens feel that a group of people are always watching and judging them on everything that they do. When a teen feels like they are getting judge by an audience that doesn’t exist this is called Imaginary audience. Imaginary audience arises from the larger concept of adolescent egocentrism.
Deborah Tanner said “nearly everything is framed as a battle or game in which winning or losing is the main concern.” (Argument 4) each partner needs to be cognizant of this mindset and thru the utilization of mindful speech and listening be prepared to concede certain points. Often couples will completely lose focus on the current disagreement because one or both refers back to previous issues. This is unhealthy and should be avoided. Argument should never employ verbal abuse as a tactic to win. If this should occur an immediate apology can go a long way in repairing the damage.
Why Teens Join Gangs Teenagers are often emotionally insecure and want to fit in with people who have the same mind set. Teens sometimes choose to associate with people who have a bad effect on them such as gang members. In fact, there are three major reasons why teens choose to join gangs: bad family relationships, drug addiction and influence of other teen gangsters. Perhaps the most common reason for teens to join gangs is bad family relationships. For example, some parents have arguments or fights most of the time which cause stress for their children, and sometimes parents don’t give enough time to their children.
A rite as simple as reading rude words out loud can produce a measurable effect. (Group influence on teens) Once we are in a group it starts to shape us through conformity, pulling our attitudes and behavior in line with others, threatening us with ostracism if we dare to rebel and, when facing rival groups, firing our competitive spirit. We try to shape the group as well, by sometimes repeating our opinions. This helps to convince others we are voicing the majority view. Still, people are notoriously resistant to change.
Juvenile crimes are one of the most common problems that have negative consequences on any community. Juvenile crimes refer to the crimes that are perpetrated by individuals who are under the adult age. Statistical analysis indicated that this number grows daily. This has triggered the government to seek intervention measures to help reduce the increasing trend and hence safeguard the society against future offending. This because such children who have records of crime develop to become uncontrollable gangs in the society.
In so many ways, teenage sex only has negative results including: pregnancy, sexual transmitted diseases, depression, and many others. Teenagers have a really hard time seeing the big picture in this world and think they know much more than they really do. Keeping teenagers from having sex is a hard task but is really important to keep our teenagers safe and free of negative impact.
Divorce “ Teenagers in Trouble” Stress is basically defined as an applied force to strain a body; a mentally or emotionally upsetting condition occurring in response to adverse external influences and capable of affecting physical health. Teenagers now days have had a lot of stress because of a lot of different reasons. However, the main things in my opinion that cause stress for teenagers are peer pressure and more importantly family problems(for example: divorce). Such stresses put teenagers in problems where they make life decisions that can be very risky. Many books were interesting regarding child stress but particularly “The Romance of Risk” by Dr. proton was very amazing.
We've all been wanting to be friends with those couple of cool kids to feel fully accepted and that you actually matter. Not being able to be friends with those groups is kind of lame. Even though it is said that high school groups get along, they don't because people don't know how to deal with others differences, focus too much on them selves, and don't care to go out of their way to be nice. Its true people don't know how to deal with others differences. In an article Clay Tucker says " We all have difficult people we need to deal with.
In a reality you get real consequences for breaking the law and I broke it.I realized that you can't just wink your eye and get out of it and there are consequences for you.A part of growth as a teenager is mental developement and now that I have the mind set of taking head to this lesson I learned, the success in my life is imminent. The excessive consequences of crime aren't pretty and neither is jail. Although i felt that I was a bit similar to these criminals, the entire experience was frightening and I pledge to do everything in my power not to return to jail.I entered that place with a bit of joy and anger intwined, but once I got out of my daydreaming state I acquired the common sense that I must have not had before to land myself in this grimey, dreadful place. There are consequences for your actions and you do have a choice to do the right or wrong action, its up to you. When knowing that after doing something wrong that jail is not that far behind, you tend to just do the right thing. It is not because of just fear alone but because of pure growth that I don't want to return and a truly changed
