Outdoor Adervising - Billboards or Bills Advertising is everywhere, and it's not going away! Outdoor advertising has become a big business and companies are looking for more ingenious ways to bring their products and services into the public eye. Text one describes the many advantages that digital advertising has brought to the market. Billboards line the motorways and tv screens dot the waiting lines in banks, malls, and supermarkets. There is no denying that this form of advertising is very effective . Text one also points out that digital advertising is environmentally friendly when compared to the more traditional forms such as posters and flyers, which become a constant source of litter. Digital advertising is not welcomed by everybody, however, as text two contends. The text highlights the fact that the old methods of posting bills, passing out flyers and hanging signs, were generally accepted, and not even noticed for the most part. Their effects were basically benign. It asserts that digital advertising, on the other hand, is impossible to avoid and therefore could have a damaging effect on children and young people if they are exposed to unsuitable ads. It goes on to say that digital advertising is destructive to the environment. Weighing up the two positions, it's clear to me that digital advertising is here to stay, and it is certainly a very useful tool for businesses. I completely disagree that digital advertising is more damaging to the environment than posters and other paper based ads, and I don't believe it is damaging to children as long as the ads are monitored to some degree. I personally enjoy having something to watch on a television screen while I'm waiting in endless bank queues.
