Product designs of McDonald’s are based on four different plans. You have permanent product, temporary, local, and local adaptation strategy’s which they develop their decision making process (Clark, 2006). Designing products or services that are provided to the consumers is important simply because the development enables the product to be of quality. With decision making; managers use product design concepts to determine how they are required to develop required products. Most designers of product usually evaluate their product ideas which help them know exactly what they are supposed to provide at the end. An example of product life cycle in McDonald’s would be the shamrock shake, during St. Patrick’s time of year this option is still available which is a temporary product strategy. It comes for a small period of time but each year they bring it back and it is a hit from a selling point of view. This could also be due to the anticipation of this time and the consumer knowing they will again have this famed product. The late night market was looked at by corporate headquarters to boost profits by extending store hours. The McDonald’s Corporation saw a way to increase revenue by 4.5%, or $90,000, over a years’ time by keeping the restaurant open 24/7. The company is increasing its financial results by squeezing more from the ones it has versus opening up more. They are banking off the rethinking of every element of its business, from the product development, marketing, restaurant design, and technology. With some of the small adjustments made to the morning menu, the Mc Muffin and the Mc Griddle were launched
