Study in one of the leaders in nursing education as is Ryerson University would give me the best education and formation to be a successful professional.
Leadership in Nursing Essential to quality patient care is the effective functioning of an interdisciplinary team. In most clinical settings, nurses have the closest relationship with patients. For that reason nurses need to take an active role in the interdisciplinary team, they are the front line providers, ensure communication between team members and the patient, and continually advocate for the patient and family. Nurses know how care should be delivered. They can ensure smooth handoffs as the patient transitions through the continuum.

Nursing Knowledge Resources Within the past decade, several nursing resources have become available to support nursing research and advance nursing practice. This paper will describe important benefits of two organizations and their contribution to evidence-based nursing practice. Founded in 1922, The Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI), is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to “improve the health of people worldwide through leadership and scholarship in practice, education and research” (STTI, n.d., p.2). As a leader in the development and communication of knowledge to improve nursing practice, STTI became the first U.S. organization to fund nursing research in 1936. The Society has adopted a position statement on evidence-based nursing practice (EBNP) that supports the concept that optimal nursing care is provided when nurses and healthcare decision makers have access to the latest research.
In it, I saw how applicable it was to be a successful exemplary leader. 2. Was there anything in your experience or education that you believe was especially useful in preparing you? People trust and depend on nurses, and I will have the ability to win their trust and become their healer. My main focus will be caring for people, I agree with Nightingale’s theory of nursing; she focused on caring and helping people coping with their environment and situation (Potter, Perry, Stockert, & Hall, 2011, p. 44). Also, I highly agree with Peplau’s theory, this theory emphasizes the importance of patient and nurse interpersonal relationship and determines its importance for caring patient (Potter et al., 2011, p. 44). These two theory guides me to achieve my values and belief towards nursing which are altruism which is a act of selfless care and developing strong bond between my patient and me helps my patients become dependable and make me accountable and responsible towards them. My definition of nursing has not changed; it is basically caring for people and being able to connect
