Essay #6 Prompt #7 English Writing: Fri 7:30am-10:30am Never let me go Never let me go takes us on a very emotional ride into the deep abyss of depression. Every scene/event that takes place after Heilsham made me feel more depressed than the last. I didn’t like the book or the movie because I felt like I was in the characters situation and had no way of changing my faith. I feel that if I was in their situation I would have tried to run which I’m pretty sure most of us would have done. Even though they were clones im pretty sure they would fight for their lives because that is what most of us do in dire situations, we fight to survive. If I wrote the book/directed the movie the first think I would have done was change the ending, all three of them would have died but a epic death while trying to fight for their freedom instead of them giving up by rolling over and accepting their fate. It would be similar to the ending of 300 when Leonidas fought for his people’s freedom and died trying. No matter how many more people the enemy had he still did not give up Second, I didn’t like how the movie made Ruth malicious and her relationship between Kathy seem as though they were not friends at all. I know in the movie she did say sorry for keeping them apart from one another but come on at least look sincere. If I was directing the movie I would have a whole different cast and the story would take place in a futuristic era. It would take place in 2030 in a more advanced era; a catastrophic event takes place and reduces the planets population so we have to make clones of people as insurance. Kathy, Ruth and Tommy find out the true nature of their existence and stop at nothing to
