Names In Our Life Everyone has a name. Some people have several names by the time they die. The first name usually comes from our parents when we are born, and another one is given to us by our friends during different phases of life. Finally, there is the name we make for ourselves. Our name is more than what we are called, or even what we are known as. Our names are the first definition the world receives about us; sometimes a name describes a person better than any resume. The Japanese believe that a person's name describes that kind of person they will be; whether the meaning is beautiful, wise, or funny, it shows your future traits. When we are born, our parents give us a name. Along with this name, they give us a life of hopes and dreams. For example, I was named Oleg after my grandfather. It means “holy, sacred or blessed.” My grandfather died not long before I was born. They told me that he was very honorable, respectable, open minded, and, simply, a good person. Everybody spoke very highly of him. So, my parents wanted me to carry his name in hopes that I would grow up to be like him. Often, in school, we are given different names, either through our teacher’s mistake or our classmates insult us at recess. These are not the second names that stick to us, and since they don't stick I don't really call them names. It is the names our friends give us that stick because we trust them and respect them as much as our parents. The names they give usually come up when they describe us by our appealing characteristics. Some of our names could associate with our personalities, and interests, and others with our looks or hobbies. When I was eight-or nine–years-old I took an interest in airplanes, and one time my father took me to the air show. I was so impressed with it, that I couldn’t stop talking about it
