A person with a high level of job satisfaction holds positive feelings about his or her job, while a person with a low level holds negative feelings. (Robbins & Judge, pg. 74 2013) Personally, I am only somewhat satisfied with my current job in which I am the accounts receivable/staff accountant for a souvenir company in a small town called Prescott in Arizona. According to Robbins and Judge (2013), “interesting jobs that provide training, variety, independence, and control satisfy most employees” (pg. 81). Especially because I have a family, job security is very important to me. I have bills that need to be paid and a family that must be provided for. I want to feel as though my job is stable and that I am not easily replaceable. I do not need added stress in my life by worrying about whether my job will be available tomorrow. I also am a person that thrives on routine. I would not be a satisfied employee if I felt that I always needed to be hunting for another job because I could not rely on my employer. My employer always can rely on me and I want to feel as though I can always rely on my employer. Job security is also the fourth most important factor to job satisfaction, according to the 2011 Employee Job Satisfaction and Engagement research report that was conducted by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). It accounts for 59% of the reason for job satisfaction. In my particular position, I work very closely to my supervisor so it is very important for me to have a good relationship with her. There have been times where we did not exactly see eye to eye and our personalities clashed and it made work extremely uncomfortable and miserable for a very long time. Finally, we were able to resolve our differences and now can work together in a peaceful environment. Having a peaceful working environment is very important to job
