You just aren’t prepared for it when the rug gets pulled from beneath your feet. I had a very good relationship with my son’s father. Except for the fact that my son’s father always wanted to roam the streets, get into trouble and do bad things. I knew there would be a day where that all came to an end and he would have to pay for all the wrongs that he has done. The sad part is he left me with a 1 year old toddler and that’s all that I had left when he got placed in prison.
Maybe that is because a lot of southerners like to have a cold beer on the weekends after a long work week, but they forget to leave their stupid butts where they are at instead of trying to drive home even when they know they can’t. The last fact that truly blew my mind was Texas. I know that we follow a state motto of “Bigger in Texas” and “Here everything is better” but this is one thing I do not want to be better at. Texas alone accounts for more than 38% of all drunk driving deaths. This is a battle that I do not want to be better at, nor do I want to win.
The First Day of Basic Training The first day of Basic Training is long and hard and having gone through that day myself many years ago I still recall the fear that I could feel deep down in my bones. Sixteen years later I am on the other side of that first day as a Drill Sergeant, seeing the same fear in the trainees’ eyes. Many people see joining the Army as an easy way out and sometimes make the decision without giving basic training a second thought. So it is no surprise that once they arrive on camp, they are shocked and really just rather go home. Pick up day is the day we first meet our new trainees.
-1 year, 1946-47. I worked in the office mon-fri, 9-5 16) How do you feel about war today? - We (the United States) have to keep our nose out of everyone else’s (other countries) business, war is terrible, our country is like the wild west, we just “shoot them up”. If my grandson wanted to join the army I would do everything in my power to talk him out of it. I would not support him because I could not bear the thought of him voluntarily risking his life.
Special Forces: The elite of the elite Christopher L. Mintze August 16, 2011 Christopher L. Mintze Instructor Murray English 211 August 16, 2011 Special Forces: The elite of the Elite How much do you know about your nations Special Forces? There are many groups that are a part of the United States Special Operations Command, like the Army Rangers, the Green Berets, the Delta Force, and the Navy SEALS. Each are highly trained in general combat and small unit tactics. Each one can be used for many general special operations missions. However, each Special Operations Group is primarily trained for specific type missions.
I was too overweight and was declined. This was my breaking point and started on my journey. About 8 months after I started my body change, I hit my goal and my BMI was low enough to do the job, but I didn’t stop there. I went on to enlist in the Army and wanted to lose the most weight I could and be in the best shape of my life before going into basic training. Along the way I was hit by many physical and mental challenges.
Filing taxes is stressful enough under normal circumstances. When you're a member of the armed forces, your tax situation can be even more difficult, especially if you're serving overseas or in a combat zone. Citizens must go through a long enlistment process that could take a whole day if he or she has all their paper work in; things like ID, social security card, parents’ marriage licenses etc. Once he or she is enlisted and sworn in that person is now considered a poolee awaiting the day he or must take leave to boot camp for the transformation. ‘The infantry trains to prepare for combat and there is nothing typical about combat,” says the 39-year-old Rochester, N.Y., native (Spotlighting marines 8).
I was told that when you become a junior that’s when everything starts to get harder and you have to buckle down meaning no time for friends and really no weekend because it was going to require a lot of work, but I was sure that if I got through middle school, 9th and 10th grade that it would be no different than any other grade level class that I had taken already and passed. I was receiving an assignment in all classes to complete during the summer. I started the work, but it was so boring that I never finished the work. As time went on, my grades affected me, so I had to get tutoring if I wanted to be able to play football in the upcoming season. As I spent more time trying to bring up my grade in one class, my grades began to suffer in my other classes.
When a news story is written about a fellow member the media is writing about my brother or sister. Every person in the military is my brother or sister, regardless of his or her race. The news anchors and journalists are also military members, wearing the same uniform I wear and following the same rules I follow. As with everything else in the military, we are one person. We may have different jobs, but we are wearing the same uniform and fighting the same fight.
I could have told him what I needs where to be able to succeed in school but I instead just gave him what I though would make our relationship better. So last night when he picked me up from work he was saying his phone was broken so I took him to the store to look at new ones. He picked out the most expensive one and yet again I purchased the phone only this time I just shut down and got upset. Because he has not had a job in over a year and everything is on me. When we got back to my house I didn’t want him to touch me I was very short in conversation the worst part when he got ready to leave I would not even kiss him.
