Before Multi agency and integrated working came into practice a family with special or additional needs would have to appointments with various professionals and had to shuttle between them with the reports from the respectively. Now with this way of working a lot of precious time is saved and appropriate and quick intervention follows timely support. Multi agency working is a holistic approach to child care and education and is an important feature of the EVERY CHILD MATTERS frame work. Task 13.1 As a practitioner it’s your duty to observe and maintain correct procedures to ensure that the children are offered a stimulating environment which will further allow optimum possibilities for development. All those who work with or amongst children and young people have a crucial role to play in helping not only to shape aspects of their lives, but to also aid in enhancing their future development. Therefore it can be stated that how we set up our own working practices can affect children and young people’s development. The necessity of encouragement and expression to children of the importance of good physical and mental health through their diet, exercise and healthy. If we do not promote and encourage a healthy and balanced lifestyle, it could results in the children having poorly developed immune system which in turn would cause them to be ill and have days off school which would affect their development.
They may also suffer attachment disorder and trust issues. For children that suffer with transition no matter how big or small it is vital that they are given the opportunity to ask questions and discuss these changes. If your school has the right experienced staff you should be able to put together transition packages that help these children through their transition and lower the risk of any negative behaviour, anxieties, low self-esteem or academic development issues. A Positive relationship through transition for children and young people can help considerably if the child or young person has at least one strong relationship with someone supporting them during this transition process. Panels are usually made up of different agencies and these panels determine the access that is available between settings. These panels aim to support the early identification of children’s needs, monitor children’s progress, ensure a child’s needs are identified and assessed quickly and referred to the appropriate setting. They also coordinate provision through the development of partnership with parents, settings and different agencies and support inclusion in mainstream early years settings. It’s important to identify the need for additional support as early as possible. Without it the children will not get the help they need at the right time and this could have an affect on the child’s well being.
Therefore, working parents should give careful consideration to the facility and the people that will be spending a large chunk of the day with their children to ensure a positive outcome. Childcare facilities should offer group time and individualized support for language development. A teacher's experience and education can play an important role, as well as the amount of time devoted to reading, the physical environment and the ratio of children to teachers. If these types of working are not implemented and acted upon then you are not ensuring that the young people have the support that they require to achieve as much as they can. 2.
Respect for the role of families with regard to decisions about their children is inevitable. * Establishment of a working partnership between families and professionals; they work as a team and play equal roles. In contemporary FCP, professional expertise is valued owing to the knowledge and specialized skills that it contributes to the practice. Focus is directed on making families and their children understand the need to collaborate with professionals in improving the children’s learning and development. In order for FCP to be effective, professional familiarization with the family setting and activities is significant.
Authentic observations and assessments are a valuable and irreplaceable tool in many areas of child development. The assist in the early detection of children who may be in need of specialized services, and they are also great tools in helping the teacher plan instruction for individuals as well as for group instruction. Assessments are also a great and reliable tool that is utilized in helping professionals identify where their program and staff are lacking and where improvements and adjustments are needed to better meet the goals that are set for children's developmental needs. As a child educator it is important to know how to have meaningful conversations with children. Early childhood educators need to learn to watch and listen to a child long enough to determine a what a child's goals should be and as an educator understand the child's individual needs to develop strategies for attaining those goals.
