INRO Group Communication Group communication is the means in which a group relates and conveys information to each other to accomplish a task. This can take the form of both verbal and nonverbal communication methods, and in a number of different formats. How a group communicates is the basis for how well or poorly it will function and work together. It is important to note that group communication is different from individual communication though, for multiple reasons. When communicating with someone on an individual basis, it is simply a matter of one person speaking to another in a direct audience. This is completely different in a group setting. With groups, there are direct audiences, as well as indirect audiences.
