Contributing to this pressure and intensity has been the ability to play the same sport year round with the introduction of more travel and AAU programs, the increase in exposure and rewards from success in sports, and the time commitment required at the highest level. All of the intensity and pressure that is put on young athletes can take away the fun and cause many kids to lose interest in the game they once loved to play. Youth sports are now able to be played yearlong. Many kids are forced to play one sport instead of multiple sports for different seasons. There are many physical risks for playing the same sport yearlong.
I took a lot of time it was really hard. Time. I experimented a lot with all my work. By completing this Pow, I learned a lot of thing. First I learned to try thing and to experiment.
Cynthia Moore: How do you see your career growing or changing? Jenny Graves: I feel my career growing all the time as the days go by, because I gain more experience and more insight on being an educator. I am always learning new things from my students that help me to better my way of helping them. Cynthia Moore: What do you think teachers today lack the most? Jenny Graves: During my years of teaching I have notice that most of the time they lack passion for what they do which causes them not to put all their effort forward.
My confidence plays a big role in the person I am today. Freshman year was based on hard work and trying new things. This taught me to be in control. The work was not going to get done for me so to succeed I was the one who had to push myself and take over. Being a part of drill team has helped me with control by helping others in learning routines or chants with taking charge when others do not.
As a volleyball player, I was constantly working on getting stronger. Sometimes it would take days or even weeks to strengthen the skills I felt needed to be worked on in order make myself and my team better. Even though I may not have been able to ace a ball or spike it in the beginning or had a hard time assisting my teammates, I knew that if I didn’t give up, I would eventually achieve my goal. As I continued to play during my high school years, I ended up having to quit playing my senior year since I had become very sick and was not physically able to play. There were many games and practices that I tried to play, and I was constantly going against my body and making myself worse rather than better.
When we think of all of the things we valued and appreaciated at the ages of, six, ten and even fourteen, the continuous abundance of the transformations in our lives becomes apparent to us. The process of change is an inevitable part of life and occurs as a result of maturity, gaining knowledge or finding one’s self. Through the three texts that I will be discussing we can see the concept of change clearly demonstrated and how it can either create a positive or a negative impact in a person’s life depending on how the individual manages the occurring changes. Texts including "We all fall down:" by Robert Cormier, "Mean Girls" by Mark Waters and "The Red Tree" by Shaun Tan all have themes and underlying meanings relating to change. The first text that I will be speaking about is the novel “We All Fall Down”, Cormier creates a proficient illustration of the notion of change as it captures the significant social, physical and mental changes that occur, specifically through the main protagonists Buddy Walker
My answer to that is no I would not; its because of the mistakes I have made that make me who I am today. William Stafford signifies that people come in and out of your life; some playing little roles and some playing significant roles. Through all of this I have friends come and go; no matter who they may be everybody has made an impact in my life in one way or another. When things get rough you realize who is actually close to you; but it’s the people that exit my life in a hurry that have taught me a lot. I have realized that people can come and go out of my life as they please, but it’s the people that stay that truly impact me.
Final Reflection Jerrel Cummings EXP 105 Ashford University Professor Larimore Final Reflection There was a lot of great information that I learned during this class. There was a great deal of information that I learned in regards to learning Patterns and what it means to learn. This course opened my eyes to aspects of learning that I had previously never given thought to. The process of learning is more complex than just retaining information that is received. The concept of learning is more complex than one would think.
It is hard to focus and my study methods are vastly differed from those of an average college student. I am an aspiring student but struggles with focusing in on main projects as I want to ramble in a different direction. In order to get past this I must get in to a routine that requires a type of consistency in my studies. In the same way, Malcolm X had to learn to enhance his education he had to study consistently all day and every free moment in his day. I have to do the same in order to become a successful student.
Reflections of US/101 Amy Kelley US/101 Professor Eric Wright Reflections of US/101 When I think back over this class I have received a greater knowledge base on several different things but out of all of them there are a few that really stuck with me and will drive me to seek more information and ideas. The few that have made the most impact are time and stress management, integrity and ethics, and goal settings. When I think about time and stress management I find that I have always fallen short because I have always tried to do everything and there are a time when that is just not possible. After taking this class I can see how my stress level has been high and have found a few ways to reduce my stress as well as find time
