Illegal Immigration: America’s Downfall Each person in the United States at a point in time was an immigrant. If a person were to trace back their ancestors, most people would find that he or she were in some way apart of the immigration movement. Finding that their families moved into America to hunt for freedom, jobs, money, and a free form government. America became a safe haven for citizens from around the world who were being dictated under communist rule. America also enabled natives who needed jobs to gain wealth in order to support their families.
They also come in pursue of giving a better educational opportunities to their young children. Also immigrants are more likely to create jobs and pay taxes when they live in the United States which helps the economy grow stronger. Although there are many negative conceptions about immigrants these individuals should have the opportunity to migrate to the United States for a better life. Many of the immigrants that migrate were left with no other option but to enter illegally through the border because in there countries they suffered from poverty, crime, the lack of education and opportunities. In the article “Rethinking El Salvador’s transnational families” by Leisy J. Abrego writes about a young boy named Daniel and his struggles living in El Salvador while his father is in the United States looking for work.
Furthermore these immigrants are taking whatever jobs they can find, and because of this they are doing some of the most undesired jobs in the nation. Some people would argue that the illegal immigrants are taking money from our economy, but this notion is also quickly put to rest, as these workers are putting there money right back into the economy as they buy cell phones, or parts for their cars, or any number of other goods. Because they purchase goods they help other businesses prosper and more jobs are created. Hence the non-legal immigrants are not a hindrance to our society but rather they help it. These people are close to the bottom of our society and yet they provide a crucial role.
The way Upton Sinclair writes about the change of Jurgis is quite interesting: how did Jurgis dream for American? But consequently, capitalism changed him. Jurgis has become the unavoidable outcome because of exploitation of American factories. It’s not about making the lives better; it’s about how to survive. Jurgis and his family have to try many ways to make a living.
Illegal immigrants work the hard jobs in this country as they take the jobs that they can get. Now, I am not glorifying illegal immigrants on any account, I believe that they should have immigrated to the United States through legal means, I believe they should need to apply for green cards and pay taxes. The point I am trying to make is that, the illegal immigrants do difficult work in this country that nobody would take if it was offered (the stereotyped migrant work, factory jobs, etc. ), so why do people complain (“Illegal
It is money that the government uses every day that the illegal immigrant works for in the fields, in factories under poor conditions and paid under the table by employers escaping the laws of taxation and insurance. They are just happy to be living in the “land of the free” even though we look at their living conditions as being extremely vile and inhumane. So why don’t we allow the immigrants that are here now American citizenship and offer them to live respectable lives in our
Immigrants allow Americans to work jobs that pay well without having to do unwanted work. Someone has to clean the toilets; immigrants decrease the chances of Americans doing these jobs because they are so willing to do them. In addition, America is really working against itself. The blame for America’s short comings should not be placed on foreigners. The U.S. needs to accept the fact that immigration is very beneficial.
Argumentative Essay The American people don't have any problems with seasonal workers. Those are the workers who do the jobs that most of the American citizens don't want to do or are physically unable to do them. The concerns rise when seasonal workers try to steal the good jobs that citizens should have the first chance to. If the seasonal workers greatly contribute to the country, congress should reform the visa system and give them a chance to advance in the United States by making easier acceptance. There are unpleasant aspects of immigration, which includes the hardships faced to reach America and the conflict to gain acceptance.
The pitch: "Employment in America would offer them a unique opportunity at a better life for both themselves and their families," the report said. Related: The underground sex economy In 93% of the cases that the Urban Institute reviewed, the recruiter misrepresented some key element of the job: the nature of the work, the hours, the benefits (health insurance, tuition, vacation) and the perks (e.g., free housing, or even legal permanent residence in the United States). In terms of pay, the report found that the wages promised by recruiters are "not outlandishly high relative to the federal minimum wage." But in light of all the benefits and perks promised, they seem more generous. The switch: Once the pitch is made, the recruiter may then pressure victims to quickly sign contracts they don't understand and pay a high recruitment
The article “Paga ser Bilingue” by Domenico Maceri discusses why workers should be reward for being bilingual. Growing immigrant population in the United States that is not fluent in English requires providing more services in different languages. Many government agencies and American companies are looking to hire bilingual employees. Instead of hiring expensive professional interpreters, the companies prefer save money by providing stipends for multilingual workers. However, some people disagree with providing services in different languages because emigrants will never learn English.
